Quote from the book

The Jungle Book

mainly
represents the
animal nature ,
where animals
kill for food and
survival, as this
quote from book
says:

Another function of
the book is to
educate and explain
how humans should
be able to get along
with wild animals, as
well domesticated
animals

The stories are set in a forest in India;
one place mentioned repeatedly is
"Seonee" (Seoni)
The major themes in the book are:
 abandonment followed by
fostering, as in the life of Mowgli,
echoing Kipling's own childhood
  Another important theme is of law
and freedom; the stories are not
about animal behaviour, still less
about the Darwinian struggle for
survival, but about human
archetypes in animal form.  . They
teach respect for authority,

now relaying the stories
to us as though they're
true. We're supposed to
believe these wild jungle
tales actually happened,
like they're legends, and
we learn from them.
• The  Jungle Book ends
with its hero looking for
a home, “the jungle shut
to me and the village
Mowgli and Shanti(The Girl) gates shut … my heart is
heavy with the things
that I do not
understand.”
