MAJOR ACTIVITIES AT DTE. OF LAW


Engaging Advocates/Solicitors/ Senior
Counsels for Court cases and other
legal matters and co-ordination with
Advocates on Institute’s legal cases.

• Effective Management of Litigation

Interpretation of the provisions of the CS


Act, Regulations & Rules made
thereunder.
Major Activities
• Vetting of legal documents / instruments
including tender, quotations, agreements,
lease deed, MOUs / SLAs etc. and providing
Legal opinion thereto.

• Vetting of Title documents, search report etc.


in respect of properties purchased by the
Institute.

• Registration of Trade marks pertaining to ICSI


MAJOR ACTIVITY

Providing Factual and Legal inputs to the Advocates


for issue of legal notices and reply to the legal
notices.

• Agenda, Minutes, and Action Taken Reports for


Different Meetings

• Amendment to the CS Act, Regulations and Rules


made thereunder.
GENESIS OF LCM
Finance Committee in its meeting held on
10th March, 2015 desired that the Legal
Compliance Management (LCM) Reports of
the Regional Offices and Chapters for the
quarter ended on 31st March, 2015 in the
format as finalised be placed before the
Council.  From then the LCM has been
developed for complying all the
Law/Guidelines Pertaining to Regional Office
and Chapters under the Jurisdiction of RO.
PROCESS AND TIME
Chapter to submit the LCM Report alongwith certificate signed
by Incharge and Chairman to the RO of the preceding quarter
by 15 days of the completion of the quarter. The discrepancies
if any shall be specifically mentioned.

RD of the RO to collate the LCM Reports from the chapters


under their jurisdiction and forward the same to the Dte. of
Legal Affairs, HQ along with LCM Reports of the Regional
Office by 30th day of the conclusion of each quarter alongwith
Analysis Report and Certificate

LCM Report submitted by all ROs/ Chapters to


the HQ in the specified format on quarterly basis
is placed before the Council including the
analysis report and ATR

The Discrepancies
and Non-Compliances
shall be removed by
the Chapter/RO and
the respective
directorates

The ATR to be
submitted on the
compliances by the
Chapter and RO to the
respective Directorate
and to the Dte. Of Law

The ATR will be


intimate to the Council
in the next meeting.
