One day my closed friend and co-

employee asked me to join her to

take the certificate of teaching
program in Araullo University.
I love the mission of giving what I have and
what I can to help the students to develop
themselves not only in academic but more
importantly in dealing with the reality of life
and the world. In return, I love the essence of
teaching while learning too because in this
field, I also learn a lot from my daily
experience with the students.
It really affected my ability to
speak clearly and had no
confidence to speak at all.
It also made me doubt myself and
came to the point that I always hear a
voice inside me saying: “Standing in
front of people is not your life, and
those dreams aren’t made for you.”
In order to help their situation, I
will give a hundred million
efforts to inspire and influence
them.
I should also give my whole self,
my love from the arts, and my
voice to uplift, empower, and
educate them.
I would carry the burning torch of
education that can illuminate the lives
of my students and it would be my
greatest honor and duty to be brave
enough to hold the torch that all my
students could see and feel its light.
When I was in high school, it was
never in my dream of becoming a
teacher.
Because I saw how my teachers
make lots of visual aids, lesson
planning, and different paper
works that they need to comply.
That is why I became not interested not
interested into being a teacher because I saw
that it was really stressful plus handling
different types of students who also have
different personalities is something that will
challenge me if I become a teacher.
The moment I enter college, I
took the education as my course.
I know that I will face struggles
like making lots of paper works,
reporting, making lesson plans,
thesis and many more.
I realized that it wasn’t always
about the paper works that I will
do but more of the strong bond
that I built with my students.
I also want to impart not just the
knowledge but also life lessons that
they will never forget and bring it
with them as they grow as a person
and that is why I am a teacher.

I chose to pursue teaching as my
profession not because this is
what my family wants for me
especially my brother who passed
away who’s also a Teacher.
Choosing what their want for me
which is “Teaching” is not a
mistake, because I can clearly see
that this profession will help me
to develop my holistic growth not
just professional but also personal
and moral-spiritual growth.
Time flies so fast, I gradually
fell in love to this profession.
Passion, Dedication, love,
Genuine Happiness, and
Patience teaching taught me
not just only knowing the
concept but you can apply it
to the real-world.
Another important reason why
I chose to stay in this career
because it is fulfilling your
inner desire.
Mere fact that there is nothing
happier and fulfilled than
seeing your students grow,
learn and eventually develop
their potential.
This is the shift that we a
educator should embrace,
accepting the fact that this is
how the modernization taught
them.
When I was young, I never
imagine that someday I will
become a teacher. Because I
think, this is the opposite
profession with regards to my
personality as a person.
As the years go by, I started
to love this profession not just
because I want to but because
of my teacher when I was in
High School.
Through this, you will
recognize yourself that you
are growing and improving as
an Individual.
And most importantly, I want
to make my family proud who
helped me finished this
profession.
I used to play with my cousins
when I was a kid and my
usual role I’d love to be is a
teacher.
We do not have a wide board
nor chalk to use to, but I know
that then, I will be a teacher,
though my reason by that time
is yet clear.
I am a teacher because it’s
God’s way of telling that
success is not meant about
your personal desires in life
but rather trusting God’s plan.
So I started dreaming, I think
of something I am capable of
and at the same time I enjoy
doing the most and that’s
cooking.
I really enjoy watching and
helping my mother preparing
food for us, and that time I
decided that I will take a
culinary course when I get to
college.
The real journey of being a
teacher will start, and
suddenly everything flashback
on my mind during high
school days that I never want
to be a teacher but here I am.
As a kid, I see myself to be a
teacher, I don’t know yet why
I want to be a teacher because
in my perception and in my
mind I just want to be a
teacher.
The time has passed I’m in
primary level some of my teachers
and very passionate in their job
especially my adviser in Grade
six, she is very kind, dedicated
and the lesson she taught was easy
to acquire.
I don’t know exactly why,
because what I known was I
am always clean the room, I
am really industrious when it
comes in school opposite in
our home.
Some of my relatives said that if I am a
teacher I have a high salary but now, I realize
that it depends on the status or position but as
a fresh graduate it is enough for me, and as
I’m applying for this job I’m not really
expecting a very high compensation/salary
since I’m not yet a board passer because our
board exam was postponed because of this
pandemic we are facing right now.
One of the things that a teacher
treasure was the time that your
students remember you in the time of
their success, that was very satisfied in
your part because you can see the
product of your teaching even though
you are not only a teacher he/she
meets you are part of it.
A teacher is not an easy
profession, you need to have a
dedication, passion and love
in teaching because if not you
will not survive in this job.
Choice will make your mind
realized everything, choices
are everywhere you just need
to pick/choose what you want.
It takes a big heart to shape a
little minds.
But look when I am now, far
from being an engineer I
wanted to be when I was still
a child.
I am not used to face and talk
in front of many people.
Way back then, I never think I
would be a Teacher.
There’s a lot of challenges
I’ve been through as I am
studying because I still
working as a waiter during
those times for me to settle
finances in school.
She never get tired of helping
me accomplish the
requirements need to submit.
Right after my high school
graduation, I enrolled in
college.
During those times, my
parents always asking me
what are my plans and I just
simply say, “Hindi ko alam,
kayo na bahala.”
Since elementary to high
school, I never even imagine
of becoming a teacher.
Your not just a teacher, your
also a guidance counselor, a
mother, you have to manage the
classroom, washing them when
they poop and meeting all the
deadlines for school documents.
Also, there’s a point in my life
where there are many things
that come into my mind like
what I wanted to be in the
near future.
As a teacher, I will always
keep myself being motivated
to provide quality education
because I understand and
consider that not every learner
will learn in the same way.
I start walking this path, I
really feel uneasiness.
I also start asking myself, Am
I really deserving of this
profession?
Once again, I am a teacher
because this is what God
wants me to be.
My first year of teaching was
very hard and sacrificing
because I handled 3 sections
of pre-school students.
Although, this profession is very
tiring because a lot of
paperworks and preparation of
lesson to do, it is very rewarding
for my part everytime that my
students learn.
When I was young, during my
elementary stage, my dream is
to become a teacher.
There’s a time that my cousin
and I will playing the role that
I am a teacher and my cousin
will be a student.
We know that our mind
setting is quite changing
sometimes.
When I entering college life, I
decided to choose BEED. I’ll
never regret for my choosing
career that’s why I am a
Teacher.
You will never be called a
teacher unless if you cannot
apply it in a real life.
I am a teacher because my
father choice. He said when I
got a job I will not far from
them because I will be home
in the afternoon with them
especially on weekend.
I did some research about
children I also read and read
and learned what is the right
teaching method I used for
preschoolers.
I am happy to see them that
they are learning to recognize
letters and numbers.
They inspired me with their
professions because I’ve seen that
eventhough teaching is never an
easy task, they can still compose
themselves professionally in
facing concerns about the
teaching matter.
Aside from the influence of
my family, I suddenly realized
to myself that teaching fits my
ability and inclinations.
Some actions that confirmed why
this profession is for me is that
because I love talking to people,
sharing what I know about why
things are happening, and
expressing my thoughts about
something.
This is a true because as I
experienced, being a teacher
makes you feel stressed, and
exhausted, but sometimes,
happy whenever I see their
efforts in learning.
So my parents suggested that I
have to choose education. He
just use my parents to
convince me to educate young
minds of His children.
I don’t know but there is
happiness inside of me
everytime I have this time.
I don’t know what I would
feel that time because in the
first place, my dream that I
always want to achieve is to
be a painter, fashion designer,
chef, or a singer.
Lately, I cleaned our old house
and suddenly I ssaw an old bond
paper with writings on it. I was
surprised because it was entitled
“Guro” and the content of the
reflection was all about the
reasons why I want to nr a teacher.
This profession, teaching, is
not really my dream to be and
I don’t want to be.
It si how you influence them
goodly through your
teachings.
My parents en courage me to
took a teacher, otherwise
many people who inspired me
to become a teacher.
When I frist decided to be a
teacher I feel very lucky
because I mold young minds
of children. I told myself
never stop learning, to share
knowledge of my students.
Every single day, I assured
that they have learned from
me, to be successful someday.
In my many years of teaching
I have a lot rewarding being a
teacher because little minds
being shaped and molded their
mind now they are successful.
I am just a girl dreaming to be
in front of the class where the
eyes of my students looking at
me.
My father taught me to be
generous and always have a
big heart in doing things to
others without expecting them
in return.
My father sent me in a
beautiful school in our city
which is Xavier University
Ateneo De Cagayan. A school
where is Education is the
center of Excellence.
I graduated in college with no
ideas where to go. I almost
give up in life. My dreams
with my father will never be
happen anymore.
I don’t want anymore to
practice my profession as a
teacher.
Teacher is a noble profession.
It needs an endless patience, a
bunch of effort, and
continuous hard work.
What I wanted to become was
a chef in a fine dine restaurant
or in a cruise ship to also tour
myself around the world.
There are many times of
sleepless nights due to papers
to check, lesson plans to
prepare and presentations to
make to ensure the security of
learnings of my students.
Why am I a teacher, maybe
because God has planned
something to me. I am still
here because I am now loving
what I am doing though there
are lot of thing to learn more.
