Communication skills
The word ‘Communication’ comes from the
Latin word commūnicāre, meaning ‘to share ,
you can see that communication is the
‘sharing’ of information between two or more
individuals or within a group to reach a
common understanding.

Disadvantages of visual communication


✘ Problem of Presentation(limited scope): All topics or subject matters can
not be presented through visual communication.
 Brevity: A complete and detail information can not be displayed through such
communication. Therefore the whole concept or idea may not be understandable if
visual communication is used extensively.
 Need for Efficiency: Drawing, graphs, charts or symbols may not convey any
message to general people in certain situation.  Special knowledge and efficiency
are required to deal with visual communication.

What is Feedback The observation of the receiver’s


response is called feedback. In other words, the part of
the receiver’s response communicated back to the
sender is called feedback. Actually it is the amount of
response of the receiver that reaches to the sender. It
enables the sender to evaluate the effectiveness of the

 Physical and Environmental barriers:


Distractions such as background noise, poor
lighting, uncomfortable sitting, unhygienic
room, or an environment that is too hot or
cold can affect people's morale and
concentration, which in turn interfere with
effective communication.
