Full Plagiarism
 Content that has been presented as
own, without any changes made to
the language, thoughts, flow, and
even punctuations.
Believe to be plain lazy to make an
effort.
Partial Plagiarism
Presented content is a combination
of two to three different sources,
where the use of rephrasing and
synonym is rampant.
Author uses some originality.
Minimalistic Plagiarism
 The plagiarist authors someone
else concept, ideas, thought or
opinions in their own words and in
a different flow.
 Involves lot of paraphrasing
Source Citation
 Complete source of information
with quotes is provided but give no
other accessible information.
 Example is a “Ghost Writer”
Self- Plagiarism
Using one’s own work, fully or
partially, or even the same thought
and re-writing it.

Philippine copyright law is enshrined in the Intellectual
Property Code of the Philippines, officially known as
Republic Act No. 8293

Copyright is a branch of law granting authors the


exclusive privilege to reproduce, distribute, perform, or
display their creative works.

To qualify for copyright protection, a work must


be both fixed and original.

171.1. "Author" is the natural person who has created


the work;

171.2. A "collective work" is a work which has been


created by two (2) or more natural persons at the initiative and
under the direction of another with the
understanding that it will be disclosed by the latter under his own
name and that contributing natural persons will not be identified;

171.3. "Communication to the public" or "communicate to the
public" means the making of a work available to the public by
wire or wireless means in such a way that members of the
public may access these works from a place and time
individually chosen by them;

171.5. "Public lending" is the transfer of possession of the


original or a copy of a work or sound recording for a limited
period, for non-profit purposes, by an institution the services of
which are available to the public, such as public library or
archive;

171.10. A "work of applied art" is an artistic creation with


utilitarian functions or incorporated in a useful article,
whether made by hand or produced on an industrial scale;

171.11. A "work of the Government of the Philippines" is a work


created by an officer or employee of the Philippine Government
or any of its subdivisions and instrumentalities, including
government-owned or controlled corporations as part of his
regularly prescribed official duties.
