Identifying strategies to lessen the absenteeism of Senior High School students in San Pablo
Methodology

Descriptive-Evaluative Method was employed in the


study. Questionnaire checklist was used in
gathering the data. A total of 39 respondents were
the subjects of the study. Statistical tools used were
percentage, rank and weighted mean.

Conclusions
1.Profile of the Respondents.

Out of 39 respondents of the Senior High School


thirty-seven (37) or ninety-five percent (95%) belong to
Low Income Class and have 3 to 5 siblings. Therefore,
the researcher concludes that the Attendance of
Senior high school is fair, and no one from the Senior
High School students belong to High Income Class. All
the respondents belong to the Low Income Class.
2. Performance of Senior High School students in San
Pablo Integrated School along: Regular Attendance,
Number of Absences per Month, Number of Tardiness per
Month, Prolonged Recess, Cutting classes.

Senior High School students incurred “regular


attendance”. The researcher further concludes that
attendance of the Senior High School students in San
Pablo Integrated School is better.
3. Factors that affect the Attendance Rate of Senior High
School students.

According to the respondents, Health issue has the


high impact that affect the attendance of the students.
The researcher further concludes that most of the
students in Senior high school that incurred absences
was have health concern.
4.Strategies that can be developed to strengthen

students’ performance in terms of attendance.

Senior High School students answered

“Acknowledging students who have excellent attendance

through certificate awards, letters of

commendation/acknowledgement”
is what they prefer as the very effective strategy

to lessen absences. Therefore, the researcher

concludes that the Senior High School student

is satisfying in receiving appreciation.


Recommendations
1.The Demographic Profile of the Respondents
along:

1.1 Economic Status. Local Government Unit of


Libmanan should be introduce Livelihood programs to
the residents to augment their economic status such as:
Food for work program, DOLE Livelihood Program.
1.2 Number of sibling(s). DOH/Department of Health
promote awareness in Family planning.

1.3 Attendance. School administrators should focus


on those students who incur more absences.
2. Performance of Senior High School students in San
Pablo Integrated School along: Regular Attendance,
Number of Absences per Month, Number of Tardiness per
Month, Prolonged Recess, Cutting classes.

1.Students who have regular attendance should encourage


their classmates/co-students to regularly attend classes
too. Inspire to motivate them to attend classes.
2. Faculty and School Administrators
should have made rules and action such as:
Giving letters to the parents of students,
suspension etc.

3. Parents should encourage their children


to study and have a close monitoring of the
children’s activities at home.
3. Factors that affect the Attendance of
Senior High School students.

Students who incurred health


issues/problems should inform their teacher
through sending letters to let them know the
reasons of their absence.
4. Strategies that can be developed to
strengthen students’ performance in terms
of attendance.
The teacher should apply the strategy which
is the “Acknowledge students who have
excellent attendance through certificate awards,
letters of commendation/acknowledgement” to
lessen absences and also the students will
motivate and inspired to attend class.
