Menurut Asma (1996, dalam Raduan,
Naresh, Haslinda & Goh 2008) - budaya
suatu organisasi dengan organisasi lain
adalah berbeza.

Menurut Ab. Aziz Yusof (2003) pula,

Philips (1993) - karekter budaya sekolah ialah
kepercayaan, sikap dan gelagat dan dicirikan dengan
bagaimana anggota sekolah melayan anggota sekolah
yang lain, sejauhmana anggota organisasi dihargai dan
upacara dan amalan yang memberi kesan kepada
kerjasama dan semangat kekitaan.

Budaya sekolah- sistem yang membentuk
pemikiran anggota sekolah dan cara mereka
berkelakuan.
Sekolah mempunyai suatu budaya yang
tersendiri yang sememangnya berbeza
daripada budaya institusi yang lain seperti
institusi penjara atau hospital sakit jiwa.

Guru dan pelajar berinteraksi dalam menyampai,

Proses pengajaran dan pembelajaran tersebut

Dalam erti kata lain, budaya sekolah sebahagian
besarnya adalah hasil daripada interaksi diantara

Untuk memuaskan kehendak kreatif dan seni para
pelajar. Aktiviti diadakan untuk mereka
menghilangkan ketegangan, serta meluahkan tenaga
tanpa sebarang kawalan daripada kakitangan
sekolah.
Contoh aktiviti ialah seperti menari, melukis, atau
bermain muzik mengikut kecenderungan dan minat
masing-masing.
Sekolah di Malaysia kurang menekankan budaya
ekspresif ini, tetapi terdapat beberapa buah sekolah
di Britain dan Amerika Syarikat yang
mengamalkannya. 22

Menurut Shatar Sabran (2001) adalah seperti

Abstract: This study aimed at testing the measurement model of school culture. The
questionnaire used is School Cultural Elements Questionnaire (SCEQ) consisting of 42 items with
six domains i) Professional value, ii) Emphasis of learning, iii) Collegiality, iv) Collaboration, v)
Shared planning, vi) Transformational leaders. The study involved 579 primary school teachers
from 5 zone areas of Malaysia represented by the states of Kedah, Selangor, Johor, Terengganu and
Sarawak. Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS) and Structural Equation Modelling (SEM)
technique were utilized to perform the required statistical analysis of the survey data. Exploratory
Factor Analysis (EFA) and Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) were carried out to verify the
domain used. After the EFA and CFA conducted only 4 constructs and 21 items were found to have
high value validity. Construct consists of i) Transformational leaders, ii) Shared planning, iii)
Emphasis of learning, and iv) Collaboration. Both of these analyses indicate the measurement
model is satisfied specified measurement criteria. This research also provides ideas for future
research by practitioners in this field.
