Preface
Physical Science is a SHS Core Curriculum subject in ABM and HUMSS strands.
The first part is devoted to Chemistry and the second part is devoted to Physics. It is
to a large extent that the two are integrated in some parts to show the relationship
and/or the connection between the two disciplines. Physics and Chemistry are
integrated where the applications of the two sciences are applied. It gives us a deeper
understanding of how everything in this Earth started and how everything that we
are enjoying now and the comfortable life that we have now are products of the
great minds in Physics and Chemistry.

understanding of matter, motion, electricity, magnetism,
light, and the universe from ancient times to the present;
applications of physics and chemistry concepts in
contexts such as atmospheric phenomena, cosmology,
astronomy, vision, medical instrumentation, space
technology, drugs, sources of energy, pollution and
recycling, fitness and health, and cosmetics.

FIRST GRADING PERFORMANCE TASK
The Chemistry of Things – An Infographic
Make an infographic based on the chemistry, chemical properties and
physical properties of an everyday consumer good. The groupings and all
other specifications will be assigned by your Empowerment Technologies
subject teacher. (mid-August 2019 before the 1st summative exam).

CRITERIA FOR GRADING:

PRECISENESS 50 pts
(The facts stated in the infographic is correct and interesting)

AESTHETICS & CREATIVITY 40 pts


(the infographic is pleasing to look at and meets the standards set by ETech)

SECOND GRADING PERFORMANCE TASK
The Laws of Physics– A Webpage
Make a webpage on the chapter, “The Laws of Physics are Universal”.
Each law must have at least one example, with visual aids, and must
accompany a matching solution to the problem in a step-by-step process.
(Late September 2019, before the 2nd Summative Exam).
