SV-2 was drilled in 1991 and produced around 62194 m3 of oil.

It was sidetracked as SV-

02_Z in year 2012 due to GP failure and casing damage.
SV-04 & SV- 05 were abandoned.
 SV-04 has got poor reservoir faces and SV-05 has no hydrocarbon bearing zones.
4 more development wells were drilled from year 2007 to 2014 as SV-06, 07, 08, & 09.
All these wells are producing oil except well SV-09 which is producing only water after
producing 409.5 m3 of oil .
K-IX sand is the main hydrocarbon producing sand followed by K-VIII sand.
Total oil in-place reserves of the field is 1.26 MMt. Cumulative production of South- Viraj
field as on 01.04.2018 is 0.226 MMt, which is about 18% of in-place reserves.
Several 2D and 3D seismic campaigns have been carried out starting from 1983-84 and
1989-90 respectively covering 402 LKM and 335.75 Sq.km .
South-Viraj field consist of two layers showing hydrocarbon presence, they are Kalol-VIII pay
& Kalol-IX pay .
Pay Zone K-VIII:
The porosity and permeability of the sand is around 30% and 300 md .
Initial reservoir pressure recorded was 134 Ksc. Pay thickness ranges from 1.0-2.0 m in the
field.
Pay Zone K-IX: 0.75 MMt of oil in place ; 30% and 300-400 md ; Initial reservoir pressure
recorded was 132 Ksc.
Exploratory wells: SV-01,02,03,04,05
Development wells: SV-06,07,08,09
