way they survive in the
Ancient times
 Beliefs and traditions are part
of every culture. For Filipinos like
us, it also serves as evidence that
in some way or another, we still
have similar point of view.

According to her:
ANCIENT MEDICINES
*FEVER – Drinking and taking a bath with
the leaves of “dangla” after having a fever will
avoid the fever to comeback.
*SORE EYES – Lola said that she uses
her URINE to cure her SORE EYES back then.
*COUGH – she said that the leaves of
“Dangla” and “Origano” is the cure for having
a cough.
ANCIENT BELIEFS:
 ABOUT NOT USING OF UNDERWEARS:
Lola Cuncurdia said that many of our grandmother in
the ancient times don’t wear their Underwears, but Lola
was not in favor of this.
 ABOUT DEATH
Lola said that having any kind of pets or animals
under the coffin is unholy.
but, in case that this was not avoided, the animal will
be included in the burial and it will be freed on top of
the grave.
Also, the corpse must not wear any pearls, earing and
necklace. The belongings is not included in the burial,
hence, it will be left in the family of the dead.
ABOUT WEDDING:
Lola Cuncurdia said the bride can wear
any pearls or any accessories but, the bride
must not try to measure the bridal gown
because something unnecessary
happenings might happen. The designer
will be the one to measure the exact size of
the bride and the bride will just wear her
gown on the exact day of the wedding.
ABOUT TRANSFERING TO A NEW
PLACE:
Lola said that when you drink water in your new place,
put small amount of it into your stomach to prevent
stomachache.

ABOUT “AN-ANNUNG/MADILDILAWAN”
Lola said that after you encounter this, you must give
an offering.
another is you must flip horseradish into your body.
ABOUT FALLING SPOON/FORK:
Lola said that when the spoon/forks falls, there will
be a visitor but she said that we cant predict if the visitor
will be a male or a female.

ABOUT DRESSING:
Lola said that she wears dusters in his times.

ABOUT WITCH:
Lola said that witch are true. But at her age, she still
haven’t seen a witch.
ABOUT LAP/”SANIB”
Lola said that after you are lapped, you must give
offering if you believe in it.
