Discussion
1. There is a significant different of the students’
listening comprehension achievement between
students who are taught by using video and those who
are taught by using tape recorder with the
p = 0.000, and the different score was 13.74

2. The students’ achievement increased significantly

since video is interesting and attractive thus it can
motivate students in the learning process. It supports
Walker (1997)

3. The students in Experimental class I were active, it

proves Sheerin’s statement (1982)

4. The students in experimental class II were passive,

they found difficulties in differentiate the sound they
heard. It proved Ledgerwood (2004)
V. Conclusion and Suggestion

Conclusion

1. There is a significant difference of student’s listening

comprehension achievement between those who were
taught by using video and those who were taught by using
tape recorder within experimental class I (video class).

2. The use of video could increase the students’ motivation.

3. The increase of the score of the experimental class II

(tape recorder) shows that the increase is not merely
because of the use of video, but there were the other
factors that affected the students’ achievement in the
experimental class II (tape recorder class).
Suggestion
1. From the conclusion number 1, the use of video gives a
better result than tape recorder. It is suggested that the
English teachers to applied video in teaching listening
comprehension.

2. the teacher should have well preparation on the

equipment and also manage the time well in order to
make the learning process effective.

3. it is suggested to the future researcher who wants to do

the similar research to have longer period since the
present research was conducted only for four weeks. This
is intended to see the real and accurate result of the
research because in learning language there is a process
which might influence the achievement like habit, the
learners’ characters, motivation, learning strategies, etc.
