 BARCODE SCANNER: Educational ERPs use barcode scanners in libraries for
scanning barcodes on books and scanning student information at fee counter etc.

 BIOMETRIC MACHINES : With the use of biometric technology attendance can


be taken at the touch of a finger

 TIME AND ATTENDANCE MACHINES : Personnel tracking machines are used


to keep a track on personnel activities including time worked , security clearance ,
staff and student identity verification.

 BARCODED I-CARDS AND LIBRARY CARDS : There are three components


which make up a bar-coded time and attendance based system and library book
issues/return system.
SMART CARDS : A smart card is a small plastic card build in a microcomputer
chip and integrated circuit that can store and process data.

 RAPID ACCESS TERMINALS : A rapid access touch screen terminal can be


deployed in library for book search , at the reception for showing college’s detailed
courses.

 PDA(PERSONAL DIGITAL ASSISTANT) : A PDA is a handheld computer


also known as palmtop computer. It can be used by the staff to handle ERP from
anywhere in the campus.

 E-MAIL BROADCASTER : It is a tool to send e-mails , messages , reports to


parents , staff , faculty from the ERP.

 PAYMENT GATEWAY : It is a tool to deposit fees through credit/debit cards


from anywhere in the world.
