Is it possible to be composed when your heart is racing, your knees are shaking,
and your stomach is in knots? Most definitely. Calm, reassuring, and confident,
address your audience just like you were having a conversation in your living
room
Ask Question from the audience: It helps in creating a bonding with the
audience and makes them attentive.
Involve the audience by asking them to ask you any question on the subject
from time to time. It will help the audience clear their doubts if they have any
Have your first sentence memorized and on the tip of your tongue
Stand tall, with your weight on both feet and your shoulders back. Avoid gripping the lectern.
In fact, you might step out from behind the lectern to help the audience feel more
comfortable with you and to express your own comfort and confidence in what you’re saying
Studies indicate that people who speak with low voice tones at a slightly faster than
average rate are perceived as being most credible. Speak in a normal, conversational tone
but with enough volume so that everyone in the audience can hear you
Visual Aids:
1. Use visual aids to show how things look, work, or are related to one another.
2. Use visual aids to highlight important information and to create interest.
3. Select appropriate visual aids.
a. Use flip charts, boards, or transparencies for small, informal groups.
b. Use slides or films for major occasions and large groups.
4. Limit each visual aid to three or four graphed lines or five or six points.
5. Use short phrases.
Delivery:
Your topic should definitely be based on the purpose of your oral presentation.
Prepare yourself before you present your oral presentation, as this will allow
you to notice any glitches to your presentation.
In order to grab the audience attention you may want use illustrations.
