Course Description: Presents information needed to prepare for and take the
Computing Technology Industry Association (CompTIA) Network+
certification exam and for a career as a network professional.
Course Description: Designing, installing, configuring, maintaining, and managing an Internet/Intranet server.
Configure Domain Name System (DNS), configure Active Directory. Emphasis will be on the MS Windows
Server environment. Presents information needed to prepare for and take the MCTS Exam 70-640.
End-of-Course Outcomes: Configure Active Directory, setup users, groups, policies, and profiles, hardware
component and application configuration, administration of security for users, files and printers, client
configuration and optimization, administration and configuration of server roles and core configuration.

Implementing and Supporting Servers
Prereq: None
Course Description:
Instruction in security for network hardware, software, and data, including physical security; backup procedures; relevant tools; encryption; and
protection from viruses. Presents information needed to prepare for and take the Computing Technology Industry Association (CompTIA)
Security+ certification exam.
End-of-Course Outcomes: National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Guidelines and other best practices; develop backup procedures to
provide for data security; use network operating system features to implement network security; identify computer and network threats and
vulnerabilities and methods to prevent their effects; use tools to enhance network security; and use encryption techniques to protect network data.
