What do we offer?
W We provide a positive, fun and
stimulating environment where the
participants will gain advanced skills,
confidence, self-esteem and the
opportunity to explore their talent and
develop their very own unique style.
Benefits of Crafts for ChiIdren
W Children need to be challenged to grow. What's more,
they are usually not intimidated by challenge, as any
parent who has pulled a toddler back from stepping off
the curb can attest.
Children love making things, and even if more often than
not, they create a mess as well, you've got to give them
kudos for being the creative little spirits that they are.
Any form of creativity is a healthy and relaxing outlet.

MECHANICS AND INSTRUCTIONS
Jollibee LRC Cainta Group
Play Dough sculptures
W Give each child a small can of play dough. Tell them that
they will be sculpting different things that are birthday
related . but they only have 1 minute to make their
sculpture. Call out a party item and have all the kids
sculpt that item within 1 minute. Then have them mash
their creations into a ball and call out another birthday
item. Some fun party items for the kids to sculpt are:
birthday cake, candle, cupcake, number (age of the
birthday child), balloon, ice cream in a bowl, etc.
atch a Show
W Record an episode of Jollitown Series and
have the kids watch it together and at the
end of the movie, group them and talk the
good values showed in the movie and let
incorporate the good values in their house.
Movie Party Activities
W Famous Shots
Create some fun life size movie star
cutouts and then let party guests take
pictures with the "movie star". (Jollibee
cut-out)
Making MemorabiIia
W Each guest must have a clean white t-shirt or cap. The
kids can then decorate t-shirts or caps with multi-colored
permanent markers. Encourage the kids to use the
markers to autograph each other's shirts or caps.
Variation: Decorate the shirts before the party with
fabric pens and paint. Make stars, dots etc. including the
party guests' names. The kids can wear their new shirts
after the competition, while autographing each others
shirts using the permanent markers.
The Jollibee Kids dol Contest
W Remembering that this is a workshop party after all, we
suggest that you coordinate your American dol
competition in a positive non-threatening manner. Before
the party, use your computer to make certificates
designated for winners in different categories:
W best stage presence
W great vocals
W super choreography
W awesome costume
W funniest act
W Allow the kids to work in duets or groups to accommodate the shy
performers. Lip syncing should be allowed. Designate three adults to
be the judges.
W When the kids arrive, give them a contestant number
(easy with a computer) and a "star make-over". Provide
fun accessories: feather boas, hats, sunglasses, jewelry,
shoes etc. f the performers haven't prepared and act
before the party, allow them to look over the Karaoke
CD's and establish if they are performing in duets etc.
Then let them work together to create some fun
choreography and practice if possible. Consider hiring a
dance instructor to teach some cool steps.
W Once everyone is prepared, the show begins! Everyone
will take a turn and then the winners will be announced --
all with plenty of applause, of course! Present the
certificates to the winners.
W Variations on the JoIIibee Kids IdoI contest:
nject some goofiness into the contest by encouraging kids to give
silly, off-key performances. This will make nervous guests more
comfortable and allow them to give performances with a comic flair.
Give awards for:
W wildest costume
W flattest notes
W funniest
W rudest
W loudest
W f you're opposed to competition, you don't even need to have a
contest. Simply, set up the stage, and let the kids get dressed up
and enjoy singing along with the Karaoke machine and creating fun
choreography to their favorite songs.
Charity Parties
W Charity parties are for kids who want to give
back to their community. Start planning your
Charity party by deciding what Charity your child
would like to support. Then call the Charity and
ask them what items they need. This will give
you a good idea of what to ask your guests to
bring or what you would like to do at the party to
collect those items.
W On the invitation ask guests to bring an item to support
the Charity instead of a present for the birthday
child. You might want to include some literature or a
website address for the charity so that guests (and their
parents) will be familiar with it before arriving at the
party.
Let guests know what you will be doing at the party to
support the charity.
W Support the JKW-Foundation.
Charity Party Favors
W Ask the Charity that you are going to support if they have
t shirts or items for sale that will benefit the charity - then
hand them out to the guests as party favors.
W Some organizations have thank you certificates that they
print out and give to volunteers - ask if your charity does
this and if not, make them yourself to give to the party
guests.
GLITTERY FRUITS CRAFT
W You wiII need:
Ribbon
Kitchen foil
Tissue paper scraps in yellow, green and red
PVA glue
Glitter
W Instructions:
W Tie a knot in your ribbon so it forms a loop. You need to make this loop longer than
you want your finished "fruit" to be so there will be enough at the top to hang it.
W Rip off some foil and shape it round the ribbon so the knot sits at the bottom and
there is a loop at the top. Shape the foil into an apple or pear shape, squeezing it
tightly. t might take a little while to get a shape that you are happy with.
W Dip scraps of the appropriately coloured tissue paper in the glue and use them to
cover your fruit. When your fruit is completely covered sprinkle with glitter. Hang your
fruit up or place carefully in a bowl to display.
Make a Paper Tree
from LittIe Hand Prints
W Make an adorable Christmas tree from your child's
handprints. This makes a nice decoration to put on a
door or a great bulletin board in a classroom.
Supplies needed: A lot of green construction paper
W A piece of brown construction paper (for the tree trunk)
W A piece of yellow construction paper (for the star)
W A large piece of brown paper (or use another color)
W Pencil
W Scissors
W Glue
W Optional: Glitter, glitter glue, or paper ornaments to glue on the tree
W Trace the child's hand on a piece of green construction paper. Cut out the hand print.
Fold the wrist over.
W Make a lot of paper paper hands (the number you'll need depends on the size of your
tree). f this is a class project, you may want to put each child's name on his or her
hand print.
W A nice touch, suggested by Peter Hesselmann, is to have each child write a
Christmas wish for themselves on one paper hand, and a Christmas wish for the
world on the other. Peter also did not tell his students why they were making the
hands; he put the tree up, which surprised and delighted them. Peter also had the
teachers and staff each write a wish for the world on a circular piece of construction
paper - these were used for baubles on the tree.
W Draw a tree shape on a large piece of paper. Cut out a small rectangle of dark brown
paper (this will be the tree trunk). Glue the rectangle below the tree.
W Glue the hand prints together in a tree shape, gluing the folded part of the wrist to the
background. Start at the bottom of the tree. Starting with the second row, make the
fingers overlap the next hand a little bit. Cut out a yellow star for the top of the tree.
Glue it on the tree. Write a Christmas message around the tree.
W Optional: Decorate your tree with glitter, glitter glue, or paper ornaments. You can
also make the tree on a triangle shape (so there is no background showing)
ICEBREAKER
Jollibee LRC Cainta Group
Secret Sticker
W For this "get to know you activity" birthday party guests
are given a sheet of stickers and must get rid of them by
placing them secretly on other guests. f caught they
must take one of the stickers of the party guest who
caught them. Only stick one sticker at a time - first one
rid of their stickers wins! Fun birthday icebreaker
game! Use stickers from your birthday party theme.
Toilet Paper Share cebreakers
W You'll need a new roll of toilet paper for this icebreaker.
Gather party guests in a circle and tell them you are
going to pass around the party game toilet paper and to
take as much as they think they need for the
game. Pass the paper around without any further
instructions and have the guests take sheets of paper off
the roll. Explain that they are to share one thing about
themselves for each square of paper they have. Fun
icebreaker game!
GAMES!GAMES!GAMES!
Jollibee LRC Cainta Group
Ring around the Rosy Game
W Children stand in a circle holding hands
and walk around in a circle while they sing
"Ring around the rosy, a pocket full of
posies, ashes, ashes we all ... fall ...
down!" After singing "all fall down",
children fall to the ground. Then repeat!
rong Order Game
W Directions:Fill a tray with several items,
like plates, fork, glass, ketchup, etc. Have
the players close their eyes. Then, remove
one item from the tray. Have the players
open their eyes. Can the players guess
what's missing?
Cooperative Musical Chairs Game
W This is a great version of Musical Chairs and fun to use
for an icebreaker. For this icebreaker game set up a
circle of chairs with one less chair than the number of
birthday party guests. Play music as the guests circle
around the chairs. When the music stops, the birthday
guests must sit in a seat. Unlike the traditional game, the
person without a seat is not out. nstead, someone must
make room for that person. Remove another seat and
start the music again. The kids end up on one another's
laps and sharing chairs! Fun icebreaker game!
Orders PIease!
W Play a game or two using plastic food and a tray:
W Option 1:
Divide the guests into 2 teams. Set up a racing area, and have the
kids relay race. Each will run while olding the tray. They must kep all
items on the try. f any items fall, that player must start over. Each
player will hand the tray to the next who will take it and race ith it.
W Option 2:
Place plastic food, plates, and silver on the floor and furniture all
around the room. Designate the first player to be the "waitress". The
"waitress" holds the tray while the other players shout out what
items to pick up. The "waitress" has to pick up the items and place
them on the tray without dropping them. The faster the girls go, the
more giggles there will be!
