A STUDY ON RECRUITMENT AND SELECTION AT THE NELLORE DISTRICT MILK PRODUCERS MUTUALLY AIDED CO-OPERATIVE UNION LTD

RECRIUTMENT
It is the process of finding and attracting capable applicants for employment. The process beings when new recruits are sought and end when the applications are submitted. The result is a pool of applicants from which new employees are selected.

SELECTION
Recruitment function helps the organization to develop a pool of prospective human resources. So it becomes difficult for an hr manager to employ the people out of pool. So selection techniques help in reducing these complexities and in choosing the right candidate for the job. Selection had become one of the important tasks in the HR DEPARTMENT.

INDUSTRY PROFILE
INDIA is the largest producer of milk and milk related products in the world. On an average INDIA produces 110 million tonnes of milk every day. It accounts for 13% of worlds total production. It is the world largest consumer of dairy products, s consuming almost 100% of its own milk production.

Milk production is growing at 3% p.a. Per capita milk availability growing at only 1.5% p.a. Ghee (clarified butter) consumption growing at 9% Table Butter & cheese consumption growing at 10%

COMPANY PROFILE
Andhra Pradesh Dairy Development Cooperative was formed on 2-4-1974 as a state government undertaking for the commercial principle with a mission of industrializing rural dairying and extensive infrastructure was developed to procure milk from nook and corner of the state with main objective of generating greater employment opportunities to the rural people where they are based. At present it runs with 54 dairy units in operation with 7 milk product factories, 38 milk chilling and cooling plants apart from dairy units.

NEED FOR THE STUDY


Human Resources are the most important asset of any organization and that success of that organization depends on work force with right skills and abilities. It wants multi-fold improvement in human resources with an objective of marching ahead in getting higher production and income in comparison to others. So different Recruitment and Selection process are to be held. So under this requirement the present study has been undertaken.

OBJECTIVES OF THE STUDY


To study the existing Recruitment procedure in the organization. To know the satisfactory level of employees towards Recruitment and Selection. To suggest changes if it required, in present Recruitment policies followed by the organization.

MAJOR FINDINGS
76% of the respondents said that Experience is preferred in the organization for recruiting the employees. 79% of the respondents are satisfied with the Organization Selection procedure. Print media is the source by which 68% of the respondents knew about the job vacancies in Vijaya dairy.

SUGGESTIONS
Company is suggested to give more preference to experienced candidates besides well qualified personnel. It is suggested to give advertisements regarding recruitment through local channels along with news papers.
