How to Write JPW


Step 1 : Employee drafts description of current job

duties on JPW
Identify your core works/duites (chc nng, nhim v chnh) based

on an up-to-date job description. Identify the steps or procedure (bc thc hin hoc quy trnh p dng) of work perform in order to achieve the core works/duties. The the steps or procedure statements can then be analyzed to identify the knowledge, skills, and other characteristics needed to perform the work. Elaborate on steps or procedure to explain the context Examples : Instead of this Install software on client computers Elaborate like this Install (what kind of) software on (what kind of) client computers for (what purpose)

Rate the Proficiency level (mc thnh tho) of

each steps or procedures on the four point scale (from Awarness to Mastery). The meaning of the scale values was clarified as attachment (Handout 5). Email completed JPW to immediate supervisor

How to Write JPW


Step 2 : Manager reviews and revises JPW as

needed
Ensure employee and position information at the top of

the page is correct Ensure core works/duties and Proficiency level provided by employee accurately describe the person performing the duties

Step 3 : Manager forwards the final JPWs to HR
