What is the JCI CYEA Program?


An international competition that recognizes, honors and celebrates exceptional young entrepreneurs and the role of creativity in their success. CYEA runs on a local, national and international level and recognizes the worlds most outstanding young entrepreneurs

Who can participate?


Young Entrepreneurs between the ages of 18 and 40 JCI Members & non-members

Flanders District of Creativity


The Flanders DC was established by the Flanders government as an initiative to make its economy more competitive through creativity, entrepreneurship, and forging international connections Flanders DC is a non-profit organization and receives an annual operating allowance from the Flanders government Flanders DC acts as an agent linking various initiatives, companies, regions, and nations facilitating fast and innovative combinations.

Who is JCI looking for?


JCI is looking for creative young entrepreneurs that have started a new business or created significant positive change in an existing business such as: New product development Service development Approach to the market/marketing Solved a business problem in a creative way Changed a process in a positive and creative way

How can Local Organizations participate?


Promote the National or International Competition and encourage nominees from your community to enter Host a Local Competition without an award ceremony and up to three semi-finalists to your National Competition Host a Local Competition with an award ceremony and forward semi-finalists to your National Competition

How can National Organizations participate?


Promote the International Competition and encourage nominees from your country to enter Host a National Competition without an awards ceremony and forward up to 3 semi-finalists to the International Competition Host a National Competition with an award ceremony and forward semi-finalists to the International Competition

Suggested Timelines for Participating


2010 Sept: Include CYEA in your JCI Organizations 2010 Pland of Action 2010 Oct: Manpower-Find committee members and non-JCI partners 2010 Nov: Work on the deadlines, website 2010 Dec: Prepare the promotional materials

2011 Jan: Issue a press release and start the promotion of the CYEA program 2011 March: Invite potential CYEA judges 2011 April: Keep promoting the CYEA program 2011 May: Collect/Submit the nominations online to JCI

What are the entry procedures?


All nominations must be submitted online and in English. Go to http://www.jci.cc/jciprograms/en/cyea to access the nomination form. Answer all the questions thoroughly and completely in order to be eligible.

DEADLINE: MAY 31st

Important notes
All nominations must be submitted online Your National/Local Organizations and JCIs deadline should be the same: 31 May Nominees born before January 1, 1971, are not eligible for the JCI Creative Young Entrepreneur Award.

Please keep in mind:


National/Local Organizations must use the JCI website CYEA has been set up so that all entries must be received using the online system on JCI's website If a National Organization is running a program they must still use the JCI online system for the submission of entries

Nomination and award process


31 May: international deadline to submit nominations JCI will forward online entries to the participating National Organizations for distribution to participating Local Organizations Each level of the competition will have three semifinalists selected to move to the next level National Organizations must submit their semifinalists to the International Competition by 20 July

Entries received from non-participating JCI Organizations will be entered into an open pool National open pool: entries from non-participating Local Organizations International open pool: entries from nonparticipating National Organizations Three International finalists will be chosen The winner will be chosen by an International panel of Judges, and announced at JCI World Congress

Judging Process
The three International Finalists will be selected from a pool of applicants The three International Finalists will travel to the JCI World Congress where the winner will be announced

The finalists will receive:


One economy airline ticket to the JCI World Congress Accommodation at Headquarters Hotel One free congress registration

Who are the Judges?


They are from recognizable and credible companies They are well-known and well-respected personalities in the business world Individuals on the business side of the Creative Arts (successful theatrical entrepreneur, a music promoter etc.)
