Indian Weavers

(Sarojini Naidu)
INTRODUCTION
This poem has been written by
Sarojini Naidu . Sarojini Naidu is
too well Known to Indian
students to need any
introduction. She was popularly
known as the Nightingale of
India . In this poem she
describes the weavers weaving
They weave garment of
a new-born baby . Some
garments have the
combinations of purple and
green colours .They also
weave the marriage veils of
a queen . On a cold
moonlit night ,they weave
white garments .

Why do you
weave a
 Blue as
the wing
of a
halcyon
wild,

We
weave the
fisher.The weavers say that they are weaving
the cloth for a new-born baby.
Context: These lines are taken from the
