1. Click on start button
2. Select settings option in start menu then

Accessibility Options
 This icon in the control panel is used to adjust
computer settings for vision, hearing and mobility
 To reach accessibility options,
• Open the control panel
• Select the accessibility options icon
• Double click the icon.

Add/Remove programs

• This icon is in control panel.

• This is used to install or remove programs to windows o.s.
• This is also useful for adding or removing windows
components like paint or notepad or games e.t.c.,
• To reach ADD/remove programs window,
• Open the control panel
• Select the Add/remove programs icon
• Double click the icon.

Steps to install a new software

Installation: The process of making an application

work in the computer by using the CD or Floppies
or through Internet.
1. After opening the control panel, double click on
add/remove programs icon.
2. Click on Install/Uninstall tab if needed.
3. Click on install button(Fig-8 shown above).

1. Insert the CD or Floppy into appropriate drive.

2. Click the next button or use the browse button
to choose the setup file and click O.K.
3. Normally the license agreement will appear
first,click accept.

7. After clicking accept, set up window appears generally

with three options, Typical , Compact and custom .

Typical is for most common components

Compact is for minimum components for saving disk

space.

Custom is to allow the user to select his priorities.

8. After selecting any one option among: Typical , Compact

and custom click next.

9. Now follow the instructions on the screen which will vary

from one software to other.

10. Generally it will ask the software key information.

11. Finally after completion of installation, we will see the

completion dialog box.

After clicking the install button in add/remove programs properties
window you will see the following figure, click on next button

Enter the setup file name here or search it using browse button.

Steps to Un-install software
Un-installation: The process of completely removing an
application from the computer, from in its registry.
2. After opening the control panel, double click on add/remove
programs icon.
3. Click on Install/Uninstall tab if needed.
4. Click on application which you want to uninstall, here the
PageMaker (Fig-18 shown above).

5. Normally file deletion confirmation will appear. Click
‘Yes’.
6. Then you will see the remove progress and display the
message about successful removal. Click O.K.
