Advantages of dynamic RAM over static RAM

• Consumes less power.

• Cost is less.

• Higher packing density.

• Simple in Construction.

• Stored data gets lost and refreshing is required.

• Stored data changes with time.

• System Complexity is more.

• Maintenance required.

Need for RAM’s

• Many digital systems require memories in which

it should be possible to write into or read from

any memory location with same speed.

• In RAM the data can be written into or read from

any memory location.

• The data stored at any memory location can be
changed during the operation of the system.

• When the data is read from a given address in the

RAM , the data at the address is not destroyed.

• Once a data bit is stored in the cell ,it remains

indefinitely unless the power is lost.
