What is Personal Style ?


An expression of yourself through fashion Your personal style is an equivalent of a persons fashion sense

What is self Esteem?


Self esteem is your opinion of yourself. High or Good self esteem is a good opinion of yourself. Low self esteem is a bad opinion of yourself.

Body Shapes
To determine your body shape you will need to measure Shoulders Bust line Waist Hips

There are four basic body shapes Pear Shape or Shape A Apple Shape or Shape P Hourglass Shape or Shape S Banana Shape or Shape H

Features of PEAR shape Narrow shoulders and bust Small waist Proportionately broader hips
To dress this body shape you will need to emphasize and balance the upper body. This is because the widest part of your body is your hips so you want to create an illusion of proportion

How to dress the PEAR shape


Tops & jackets
Tops should balance hips and extend your shoulder line. Puff sleeves and shoulder padding add definition to your subtle shoulders V-necks, U-necks, Cowl necks are flattering necklines Jackets with wide lapels extending to the shoulders are flattering. You should choose jackets that stop just above the hip Double breasted jackets are flattering because they have a widening effect that draws attention to the upper body

Pants & Jeans


Pleats and gathers will add bulk to your frame. The best type of pants for this shape are flat front pants or pans with darts in front. Also a wide flared leg in materials that drape For jeans styles that are not too low rise work best. Dark washes in boot cut styles will create an illusion of slimming and lengthening your bottom half. Avoid jeans with flap pockets and embellishments on the pockets

Dresses
To balance your shape look for dresses that cinch in at the waist and drape over your hips. Dresses with vertical lines also create a uniform slimming effect Shirt dresses also slim and create length

Accessories
You should avoid block heels because they add thickness to your legs Wear shoes that have slim heels Carry a shoulder bag to add volume to your upper body

Features of the APPLE shape Ample bust Hips and shoulders are smaller Small bottom
People with this body shape usually carry most of their weight on their upper body. To dress this body shape you will need to balance the lower body with the upper body. More often than not the apple shape has a little tummy that need 15 disguising.

How to dress the APPLE shape


Tops & Jackets
You can wear darker colors' on top to create a slimmer silhouette Tops that fall over your mid section are flattering in soft materials. Any top that clings to your body is a no no. Wrap tops and V necks elongate and slim your upper body Long Jackets that stop just beneath your bust are flattering Jackets with lengthy narrow lapels and deep necklines are flattering for formal wear

Pants & jeans


Lover body embellishment helps to balance you bottom Half. Low rise pants elongate the Legs. You can play with colors on your bottoms Pants with pockets and pleats on your pants are flattering

Dresses
Fill out your hips with interesting pockets, pleats and frills on dresses. Dresses with border prints are good balancers. Drop waist dresses elongate the torso. A wrap dress is also a good choice for a P shape

People with this body type usually look athletic. They do not have a defines waist or bust and have long torsos. Because there is almost no definition you can play around with so many different styles and colors.

Tops & jackets
Flared and ruffled collars add dimension to your bust A deep V-neck or yoke neckline brake the lines of your shoulders ,softening them You can wear large tops, print tops, creating a waist with a bel.t Jackets that have pockets and print are flattering. Small jackets or cardigans add a feminine touch to your outfits.

Pants & jeans


Detailing on the hips and bum will help broaden your hips Pleats and gathers on pants add volume to your bottom Keep the waist low , wide leg, flared or boot cut You can experiment with any wash of jeans. You can wear skinny jeans to show off your long legs. Boot cut jeans also add some balance to your shape .

Dresses
Shirt dresses with pockets and a belt is flattering. Sheath dresses with darts also give you the illusion of curves Dresses with boat necks, Print and layers add volume to your body and you can create a waistline with a belt.

Accessories
You can wear any type of shoes and carry ant kind of handbags depending on your outfit. Accessories that might not be flattering will be shoes that are too heavy such as wedges. Also messenger bags with long hands should be avoided because they elongate the 23 torso.

Features of the HOURGLASS shape


Curves from every angle Slim defined waist Proportioned bust and waist
this body shape is the most feminine. They usually have full busts and hips with a smaller defined waist. Since both halves are balanced there s a need to caution yourself when dressing so you dont over emphasize one half over the other.

Tops & jackets


Ideal tops for the hourglass shape are scooped or V necks as these will accentuate your bust. Wrap tops and tops with belts are also good for the hour glass women, the belt or tie will be a feature and style will fall on your slender waistline. On tops and blouses you will need to avoid high necklines like turtlenecks as they draw attention away from the waist. Fitted and tailored jackets will be one of the best choices for your hourglass figure. A well fitted jacket will slim down into the waist will emphasize your figure beautifully. Try small, neat sleeves to soften your usually fleshy upper arms.

Pants & jeans


To show off your hips with flat front pants with side zippers Smooth fitted styles that sit on your hip and flare out from your knees balance your full bust and elongate your thighs. Jeans with a dark wash create a sliming effect on your hips. Band less jeans that flare from your knees flatter your bottom half. Avoid flap pockets on jeans because they widen your hips.

Stay away from heavily beaded or over embellished dresses, they tend to make you appear heavier than you actually are and can leave you looking unbalanced. Bodices look great with your body shape as they will enhance your natural curves accentuating the waist and lifting your bust. Wear length dresses or just below the knee with a slit to make you look taller.

Accessories
This body shape is better off with small to medium sized handbags. If you want to carry a big handbag it should have a structured shape. You should try to wear heels especially if you have long thighs and short legs to 28 elongate your legs.
