- Linked in the past, that it represents some sort of inheritance to be passed down to current and future generations, both in terms of cultural traditions and physical artifacts - Elements of the past a society wishes to keep
Tourism - Comprises the activities of persons traveling to and staying in places outside their usual environment for not more than one consecutive year for leisure, business and other purposes not related to the exercise of an activity remunerated from within the place visited (WTO)
An immersion in the natural history, human heritage, arts, philosophy and institutions of another region or country (WTO)

Importance of Heritage
It has positive economic and social impact Establishes and reinforces identity Helps preserve the cultural heritage with culture as an instrument it facilitates harmony and understanding among people Supports culture and helps renew tourism
Forms of Tourism
Cultural Tourism/Culture Tourismconcerned with a country or regions culture, specially in lifestyle of the people of those geographical areas, the history of those people, art, architecture, religion/s and other elements that helped shape their way of life
Ethnic Tourism- the cultural characteristics that connect a particular group/s of people to each other. Arts Tourism- refers to visual arts, the concept of what is has continuously changed over centuries Ecological Tourism (eco tourism)- is responsible travel fragile, pristine, and usually protected areas that strive to be low impact a form of tourism that typically appeals to individual who are ecologically and socially conscious. Ecotourism is popular in areas where natural flora and fauna and the cultural heritage of an area are the primary attractions.
Urban Tourism- is the set of tourist resources or activities located in towns and cities and offered to visitors from elsewhere
