Harry Potter

and the Chamber of Secrets

A review by Rory Hughes and Rachel Maguire

Introduction
Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets is a fantastic book and we are honoured to present to you a PowerPoint presentation. It took two weeks to make but it was worth it. First, we did the typing and then we put in the animations and pictures. We surfed the internet to find information and used the book to find out interesting facts. Our favourite part in the project was putting in the animations. Sincerely,

Rory Hughes Rachel Maguire

Characters

Harry Potter
Harry has just turned twelve. He has jet black hair, glasses, and a scar across his forehead. Harry is a wizard fresh from his first year at Hogwarts school of Witchcraft and Wizardry. His parents were killed by Lord Voldemort. During his second year, Harry finds he has the rare gift of being able to speak to snakes. This language is called Parselmouth. He has already encountered meetings with Voldemort in the past.

Ron Weasley
Ron Weasley has one sister and four brothers. He is one of Harrys best friends. They met on the Hogwarts Express in their first year, ordering dozens of sweets from the confectionary trolley. Ron has red hair and quite a lot of freckles. He has a very short temper, showing so when he gives out about polishing the trophy cabinet with Filch. His father works in the Ministry of Magic. Rons mother has a liking for Gilderoy Lockhart. He is keen on helping Harry to solve the mystery of the Chamber of Secrets.

Hermione Granger
Hermione is the cleverest of the three friends. She was born by Muggles (non-magic parents ). She has no brothers or sisters. Hermione has wild, frizzy hair that goes all over the place. She loves reading and is probably the best witch of her age. Ron and Harry met her on the way to Hogwarts, when she asked them if they had seen a boys toad. She loves to go to the school library whenever she can.

Gilderoy Lockhart
Gilderoy Lockhart is a wizarding celebrity, writing many books which tell of his encounters with beasts such as ghouls, hags, vampires, werewolves and much more. He has golden, wavy hair and straight, shiny teeth. He is self-obsessed and something of a buffoon. In the book, he is the Defence Against the Dark Arts teacher but appears rather unintelligent. His favourite colour is lilac, proving so when he writes all his fan mail with lilac ink.

Tom Riddle
Like Harry, Tom is a Parselmouth. He despised the name Tom , thinking it was too common so changed it to Voldemort. He made up the name by rearranging TOM MARVOLO RIDDLE to I AM LORD VOLDEMORT. As Voldemort, he became an evil wizard, killing Harrys parents. When he tried to kill Harry, he accidentally passed on some of his powers to him. That is how Harry became a Parselmouth.

Plot
Something unusual is happening at Hogwarts. With threatening messages on the wall that is written with blood and people, cats and ghosts petrified, Harry is determined to solve the problem. Then, he finds out about the Chamber of Secrets, and its mysteries. With the help of Ron and Hermione, he tries to solve the mystery of the Chamber. Will they succeed?

Our Review
Harry Potter and the Chamber Of Secrets is a great book, just as good as the first. Our favourite part was when Harry enters the Chamber. We also liked the part when Lockhart organizes a Duelling Club. Our least favourite scene was in Lockharts classroom, when he released pixies( it was too unoriginal ). As you can see, we really enjoyed reading this book .
