Presentation on Mouse

Meaning Of A Mouse
In computing, a mouse is a pointing device

that functions by detecting two-dimensional motion relative to its supporting surface. Physically, a mouse consists of an object held under one of the user's hands, with one or more buttons. The mouse's motion typically translates into the motion of a cursor on a display

The first marketed integrated mouse shipped in

1970 by the German company Telefunken as a part of the SIG-100 console for the Telefunken TR440 computer. It has been published in a magazine, two months before Douglas Engelbart introduced his model.

History
The mouse was invented by Douglas

Engelbart in 1964 and consisted of a wooden shell, circuit board and two metal wheels that came into contact with the surface it was being used on.

It was 8 years later in 1972 that Bill English

developed the design further by inventing what is known as the "Ball Mouse" that we know today. The ball replaced the wheels and was capable of monitoring movement in any diection. The ball came into contact with two rollers that in turn spun wheels with graduations on them that could be turned into electrical pulses representing direction and speed.

Variants
Mechanical mice Operating an opto-mechanical mouse. Moving the mouse turns the ball. X and Y rollers grip the ball and transfer

movement Optical encoding disks include light holes. Infrared LEDs shine through the disks. Optical mice An optical mouse uses a light-emitting diode and photodiodes to detect movement relative to the underlying surface, rather than internal moving parts as does a mechanical mouse.

3D mice

Also known as bats, flying mice, or wands, these devices generally function through ultrasound and provide at least three degrees of freedom. Probably the best known example would be 3DConnexion/Logitech's SpaceMouse from the early 1990s. Tactile mice In 2000, Logitech introduced the "tactile mouse", which contained a small actuator that made the mouse vibrate. Such a mouse can augment user-interfaces with hap tic feedback, such as giving feedback when crossing a window boundary.

Advantages of a Computer Mouse

Mouse is an essential component in every place.

It is used to open and close a file or a program, to

move between the files, to choose a particular program, to navigate between menus, to draw images and so on. essential component in computer. Those who work on a computer cannot use it without a mouse, so the mouse plays a very essential role in the computer. In general, a mouse is a pointer used as reference to select a program.
