SYNOPSIS
Understanding role of nurses in achieving health related flagships and MDGs will go a long way in the achievement of Vision 2030 for a healthy nation is a rich nation Nurses are the cornerstone of nations health care industrythey not only offer care and comfort, but also serve as role models for good health care Nurses identify where improvements are needed to increase access, promote prevention, coordinate care, and improve quality and efficiency of healthcare for national cohesion and sustainable development

SYNOPSIS

Nurses are the main professional component of front line staff in most health systems and their contribution is recognized as essential in meeting development goals and delivering safe and effective care

Nurses continue to deliver more than 80% of health care

Provide an efficient and high quality health care system with the best standards Devolution of funds and management of health care to communities and counties Shifting bias of national health bill from curative to preventive care 2. Journey towards Kenya Vision 2030 is not easy - requires sacrifice, hard work, perseverance and determination It is important to empower nurses through research, training, leadership, management and access to information - create a culture of respect and empowerment for nurses We MUST Have Courage, Capacity, Character Commitment and Compassion for example to have competent comprehensive nurse-midwives
