Description
Loading the NE software. The NE software is lost, or waiting to be loaded. Normal operation. Critical or major alarm occurs. Minor alarm occurs. Critical audible alarm sound is off. No optical signals receive or optical power is too low. E1 port is not used. E1_LOS alarm occurs to E1 path. Major alarms (not E1-LOS) occur to E1 path. Minor alarm occurs to E1 path. BIPEXC alarm occurs to E1 path. E1 path is in use and no alarm occurs. Physical connection is normal. Physical connection is not ready or broken. Data are being transmitted. No data is being transmitted.

Functions  Provides clock synchronization for the STM-1 line unit, E1 tributary unit and Ethernet tributary unit.
 Locks the line clock of the STM-1 line unit or the 1st and the 9th tributary clock source of the E1 tributary unit.  When the OptiX Metro 100 is configured as an TM, and the clock unit is STGT, the clock supports the locked mode and free-run mode. Cross-connect unit

Functions
 Provides the service grooming capability of the add/drop multiplexer (ADM) using XCSA and terminal multiplexer (TM) using XCST.  The cross-connect unit of ADM supports 4 x 4 VC4s full cross-connect, 12 x 12 VC3s full cross-connect and 252 x 252 VC12s full cross-connect.  TM does not support full cross-connect.

Functions
 Provides Ethernet management interface, through which the NM system manages and configures the equipment.  Provides data communication channels (DCC) to communicate with remote NEs.  Communicates with the SDH unit, PDH unit and Ethernet unit, to monitor their alarms and performances, and report them to the NM.
