Aguam, Jameel

SELENIUM
Selenium is necessary for the development of the acquired immune system. Works with vitamin E as an antioxidant or protector of body cells Important in maintaining elasticity of muscles Gives protection against disease Important in conception

SELENIUM
Selenium is used for diseases of the heart and blood vessels, including stroke and hardening of the arteries (atherosclerosis). It is also used for preventing various cancers including cancer of the prostate, stomach, lung, and skin.

Selenium Deficiency
Selenium deficiency is thought to contribute to autoimmune disease by making the body more susceptible to nutritional and biochemical stresses as well as infectious diseases. Three diseases caused directly by selenium deficiency include: Keshan Disease, which causes an enlarged heart, Kashin-Beck Disease, which causes osteoarthropathy, and Myxedematous Endemic Cretinism, a form of hypothyroidism which results in mental retardation.

COPPER
aid in the synthesis of hemoglobin in the bone marrow. Important in the construction of hair and muscle Key to the utilization and proper metabolism of proteins

Copper Deficiency
Deficiency or excess of this element is very rare. Low level of copper in the blood level has been observed during malnutrition, in some kidney infections, sprue and anemia.

COBALT
Cobalt is essential in small amount for proper nutrition. This element forms an essential part of Vitamin B12. The main function is to prevent anemia. It works with vitamin B12 in: the production of red blood cells, and to ensure the health of the nervous system.

Cobalt Deficiency
Deficiency of cobalt is not really a concern if we get enough vitamin B12. If there is a cobalt deficiency, there is an increase of many symptoms and problems related to B12 deficiency, particularly pernicious anemia and nerve damage.

MANGANESE
Manganese is an important component of many enzyme systems which are involved in the metabolism of carbohydrates, fats, and proteins. In combination with choline, it helps in the digestion and utilization of fat. Manganese helps to nourish the nerves and brain and assists in the proper coordinative action between the brain, nerves and muscles in every part of the body. It is also involved in normal reproduction and the function of mammary glands.

Manganese Deficiency
A prolonged deficiency of manganese may cause retarded growth, digestive disorders, abnormal bone development, and deformities. It may also cause male and female sterility and sexual impotence in men. However, the human body obtains sufficient manganese through normal dietary intake, so a deficiency syndrome is rare.

MOLYBDENUM
Contributes to normal growth and development Key component in many enzyme systems including enzymes involved in detoxification.

Molybdenum Deficiency
Irregular heartbeat

Irritability
Inability to produce uric acid
