WHAT IS SCIENTIFIC METHOD ?

Scientific Method Under this method gaining knowledge is learning by reasoning. It is considered today to be the most reliable method of gaining knowledge. In contrast with the scientific method, the validity of knowledge obtained by scientific method can be subject to testing.

WHAT IS UN-SCIENTIFIC METHOD ?

This method of gaining knowledge is totally independent of science it considers personal experiences i.e. senses, experience, intuition, and revelation. Some gain knowledge through physical senses - sight, sound, touch, taste, and smell & experience.

TENACITY AS A METHOD OF KNOWING. AUTHORITY AS A METHOD OF KNOWING. INTUITION AS A METHOD OF KNOWING.

TENACITY AS A METHOD OF KNOWING

TENACITY : holding on to something. Decision maker or marketing manager uses this method in knowing the things to eliminate uncertainity & the conflicting clutter of concepts working in his mind. It is a very strong attitude which has no parallel & is the easiest to follow. He closes his mind to any evidence against the proposition & if he is faced by conflicting evidence, he refuses to listen/change. Such tenacious stronghold on beliefs is sure to reduce uncertainity because a person following this method is not influenced by internal doubts.

AUTHORITY AS A METHOD OF KNOWING

This method is superior than the first one. In this instead of holding ones own belief, an appeal is made to some authority. A person who is bogged down in spiritual sphere any holy scripture says is taken to be true may it be Bible, Geeta, Quran, Granth Sahib. But in org. when a executive making a decision avoids to make decision alone & approaches higher authorities & puts the challenge of making decision and if anything goes wrong they pass on the buck to the higher authorities & washes his hands supporting that decision was not his baby decision. E.g..- its quite common in government Business

INTUITION AS A METHOD OF KNOWING

INTUITION : The ability to understand. Some rely on intuition as a source of knowledge. Intuition is the strong hunch or feeling that what one perceives to be the case is indeed true i.e. If one strongly believes what one perceives is real and true, knowledge thus is obtained. While there is no reason to doubt the truthfulness of the knowledge obtained by intuition, like knowledge obtained from senses and experiences, it is subjective.
