A partnership between Australia New Zealand Banking Group had signed a Shareholders Agreement with Royal Group, Cambodias leading mobile telecommunications company, to establish a joint venture bank in Cambodia. Brings world-class banking services to Cambodia for the first time. It established in late 2005, the company won the prestigious Bank of the Year award in2006 from the UK's "The Banker" magazine, in its first year of operation.

Creation of a joint venture bank to be

known as ANZ Royal Bank Cambodia Limited, owned 55% by ANZ and 45% by Royal Group.
The joint venture bank created a retail banking presence which contributes to Cambodias economic development through the introduction of a modern payments system to an emerging banking market.
