Nuclear energy

Jinshan first nuclear power plant generating capacity factor, only 70 percent of the In fact, according to the author to verify that the average capacity factor since the commencement of commercial operation for more than 70 per cent. This figure also exceeds the average of the nuclear power plants in the U.S. operation, 65 per cent. Occur and how we doubt that the mother country better than nuclear power generation. Of course, anti-nuclear people, the same kindness for the sake of the people and scholars and representatives of the people, they in good faith for everyone Zhuxiang, should be understanding. Care but had cut the bomb's terrible, and power generation reactor melt a talk, which will discuss the facts to produce a predetermined conclusion, limited to their favorite, the fact that the selected data, inevitably, also should be for everyone to understand. Obviously, energy is the lifeblood of today's national economic, its diversity is a reasonable and important to the established policy. Of nuclear energy in the current energy policy, accounting for a considerable proportion. The plan, nuclear power generation is about ten years after ten megawatts of reactor, accounting for more than one-third of the total power generation in Taiwan. Year 2000, two decades later, are more likely to increase to 40 per cent of Domestic nuclear power generation, thanks to the efforts of all aspects of nearly the past few years has laid a very good foundation, access to foreigndepth insights, top experts appreciated painting authorities for Economic Planning and Policy and Nuclear Energy employees be proud of, is is a natural thing. Currently, there are three operating nuclear power plants, supply of people across the country high-quality, safe, stable and clean source of energy. Nuclear power generation is an integral part of China's electric power supply chain. Last year's national power generation capacity of about 32,000 thousand MW, including nuclear power generation accounted for 16 percent capacity, and went so far issued 22% of the electricity. In contrast, natural gas-fired 19% of capacity, the only issue 14% of the electricity. The performance of nuclear power generation, not just natural gas 1.8 times, all the highest power generation. Seen the competitiveness of nuclear power generation is far above the generation of various forms. Operation of three nuclear power plants, including Nuclear Power Plant in Taiwan's northernmost Shimen Township, Nuclear Plant is located in Wanli Township, nuclear power plant is located in the southernmost tip of Taiwan's Hengchun, these nuclear power plant after another power supply from 67 years onwards, its peak in the 1990s, the su and Japan's Tokyo Electric Power, Hitachi, Toshiba and other companies to the development of advanced BWR design. Because the reactor design, safety systems, instrumentation and control system, the staff radiation protection, waste reduction and other aspects have made considerable progress. First of all, after the re-design of BWR reactor safety and control systems, reactor core damage probability is reduced to 3/1, 000,000. Switchboard In other words, after 40 years of operation, the incident rate of 1/10, 000. This figure than people in the region, the lower the probability of an accident more than 100 times. The fourth nuclear power plant is fully digital, computerized power plant during normal operation, BWR control has single-handedly by the computer. However, based on safety pply of 2/5 of the island-wide power. In response to the country's sustained economic development, enhance Taiwan's international competitiveness, Taiwan Power Company since 1982 to start a nuclear power plant construction plan. Fourth Nuclear Power Plant is located in the northeast of Taiwan's most Gongliao Township, the installed capacity of 2, 350 thousand kw unit, GE principles, all reactor safety systems, we still retain Yingjie line, even if the computer fails, they can simply press a button, put the reactor easily stopped. BWR also set up a complete waste treatment system, through ion exchange, activated carbon adsorption, evaporation, high temperature incineration equipment, you can greatly reduce waste production was reduced by approximately two times the waste.

Water resources

Taipei area is rich rainfall, but high population density, the average quantity of water is not enough, a high degree of water shortage areas. In fact, solely on the rainfall conditions in Taipei, the frequency and intensity, a damp subtropical monsoonal "rainfall produced water due to topographical constraints, and higher Xucun able to express ease the shortage of water resources. The used water of the daily necessities of life, the highest proportion of dependent on reservoir water supply. Industrial water, the overall proportion is lower. We must take effective and reasonable water resources allocation, to make up for water resources is not an average. Taipei area, high water consumption, leading to the problem of water resources. Government and the competent authority, from the "water" and "Recycling and reuse" levels to strengthen advocacy, but the effectiveness is still limited. On Water Resources Management Review, can no longer be the rate of improvement is limited. Some reasons: (A) the increase of demand for water from the natural increase in population and industrial development, water-saving measures to streamline the amount of water is less than half of the increased demand. (B) water resources development more difficult, has been developed in part by the unusual weather as usual; undeveloped part, due to delays in land acquisition and other reasons, the availability of water is relatively reduced. (C) high-tech industries increased amount of water needed, a large number of high-quality water has become the upstart of used water, the water caused the urgency of the subject of other water.

The leakage rate of the Taipei water supply system, refrain from the very contamination of water in the pipeline, reducing the good water quality. The main cause of high water pipeline leakage rate of the Taiwan region, is that the pipeline laid ill and poor construction quality; followed by the impact of pipeline surrounding environment. Water quality standards relevant to the potable water quality and water users of the health and safety, water engineering technology, theoretical research and practical innovation to rigorous and focused, in recent years many of the results Taipei is a severe water shortage areas, in the face of water shortages, water consumption is the increasing number of conditions to be able to water resources management into sustainable concept. To develop a reasonable water price is the most fundamental considerations.
