According to psychoanalytic theory, this emotional release is linked to a need to release unconscious conflicts. Example: work stress -physical activity or another stress relieving activity.

Example: working with individuals who have problems with aggression, it is crucial to model how to handle situations without aggression.

It is possible to control our anger by actively enabling it to dissipate. Actively enabling means using such simple devices as counting to ten before shooting your mouth off.
