Key BW Definitions
Characteristic: Criteria used to group data together, such as Customer, Vendor, Company, Plant or Material. Key Figure: A value (E.g. Quantity, Amount) which you can report on. InfoObject: InfoProvider: Generic term for characteristics and key figures. Data repositories or central objects, on which reports and analyses are based. Infocube: A specific type of infoprovider for multi-dimensional reporting Query: Tool to analyze characteristics and key figures (InfoObjects) in an Infocube. (Equivalent to reports) Infopackage: Jobs that are scheduled to load data from Source system into BW

Routines
119
Routines
Start Routine : Preparation of data before transformation Routine for deleting Debit & credit postings Equal to zero
120
Expert Routine
Create a routine for charateristic Debit Credit Indicator in target that assign the value D to Debit Postings & C to credit Postings
121
End Routine
122
End Routine
End Routine to fill the value of Plan indicator based on value type
123
124
Advantages Of DTP
Improved transparency of staging processes across data warehouse layers (PSA, DWH layer, ODS layer, Architect Data Marts)
Separation of delta mechanism for different data targets: delta capability is controlled by the DTP Enhanced filtering in dataflow Improved performance
Data transfer processes are used for standard data transfer, for real-time data acquisition, and for accessing data directly.
