Our opening sequence uses conventions of a traditional mystery-thriller because there are plans to overthrow the government.

The protagonist is attempting to prevent a devastating plot which could lead to the overthrow of the Government. The antagonist is at the last stages of this plan but, the protagonist intervenes. There is crime, justice/injustice, heroes & villains, and innocent civilians that are roped into this world. The opening sequence develops the forms of modern thrillers by not using action or violence as a main convention but, using mystery, tension, a range of tracking shots, high and low angles, and a mixture of fast and slow shots and scenes.

We have represented teens as do-gooders and bystanders in our opening sequence. We do this because the recent Riots have lead to newspaper like The Sun and The Daily Mirror portraying teens as savage hooligans who are out of control. We wanted to reverse this and put an adult in this view. We used two male teenager because most youths in media are teens. We used males of Caucasian male and Hispanic race because we wanted to emphasise the multicultural society that surrounds England.

The world biggest threat to international security is Terrorism. After researching the medias view on 9/11, the London Bombing, and other terrorist attracts, it seems that only Islamic people have been targeted regarding this subject. This is why we refused to include any religion in any of our character because not even we know what the villain has done to bring the SIS into this. We feel that when the security of England and other countries is threatened and religion is involved, the people of Islam are exploited and this is just disgraceful and out of order.

In our opening sequence, we represent age groups equally. For example unrealistic teen drama Skins represent teenagers as vain, boisterous, confused, and over emotional people. We challenge this common representation by presenting our teenage part of the cast as serious, independent, calm, happy, mature, and down to earth people. Teenager are represented positively in this sequence. The adults are represented positively and negatively because of the knowledge and experience they have in life.

In our opening sequence, the adults are represented as powerless because in the chase scene, the criminal outruns with the briefcase but, he cannot run get away from him so, he throw the briefcase over a bridge and the Agent is powerless because he has only got the criminal; not the briefcase. The teenagers are the one in power because the criminal has no knowledge of them walking under the bridge and he drops the case right into their arms. We end the scene when one of the teens catches the briefcase, using this as a cliff-hanger; Will they open the briefcase? If the realize whats in it, will they keep the briefcase? Or, Will they turn it into the police?

To sum up this question, we maintain the conventions of a mystery thriller by representing both groups, young and elder, as reflexive; not aggressive. The agent catches up to the criminal but, he does not attack him. Both adults run past many civilians but, do not barge or push them. The teenager do not get involved with any type of violence or harm. Both groups maintain a professional, level headed manner and attitude thus, representing both adults and youths as calm, inattention seekers, mature, and private people.

After researching British low-budget film production companies and producers, we desire either Verve or Vertigo films as distributors of our product. Small funded thrillers like Bronson and The Escapist have come from Vertigo Films, and Bullet Boy and Red Road have come from Verve Films. These films have gone on to win big awards, regaurdless if their budget. Noel Clarks Kidadulthood and Adulthood and Matt Deacons Anova Hood have also become famous, despite their low-budget creation.

After filming people giving feedback on camera, we have come to the conclusion that teenagers and middle aged adults will be our audience. On the gender side, this product will apply to males more than females because it contains action. Our audience will be mature and serious because of the themes and conventions that we have included. They will be aged from 18 and upwards. We aim at realist who are as real as the world is.

We attracted our target audience by using SurveyMonkey, an online question ire service where we created a host of question that are relevant to our project. We then used Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube to share this survey and our opening sequencing with our friends, family, and people from around the world. We also attracted our audience by going around and asking them to join up with us on our social networking sites to answer our questionnaire.

Well, in all honesty, we have learnt that its not the technology you use that determines the success of your product; its the research and planning that goes into the task. We could have used the latest tech and software and produced something that turned out terrible but, we worked with what we which was a camera, a laptop, and a tri-pod. We feel that as a team, we have turned four minds into one and created something good. Im not saying that what we have made is perfect or it will get us an A, I am saying that to us, its a great achievement that we will always be proud of.

In contrast to the pre-digital ere, we can now engage in media-making and broadcast our own product- as well as be the audience. The notion formally know as the Audience describes the way how we, the audience, are now producers, distributors, film makers, etc. The industry of media now has to compete with the audience who have become guerrilla film makers; people who hardly have a budget but use their own devices and ways to make a films. This has been made possible because of technology; we can now by video cameras that allow us to film and laptops like Macbooks that allow use to edit films. Technological cross convergence: an IPhone can be used to film, take pictures, edit films and music, make music, and surf the net. This means that anyone with just a Smartphone can make a film in the space of a day, edit it, and then distribute it on social networking sites or a blog

I would organise, plan, and research more thoroughly because we rushed into everything to quickly, sometime making things up as we go along. We should have documented every single idea, change, add-on, or idea that came to us. We should have worked better as a team and as individuals. This course has taught me to communicate better with people and take the imitative when working in a team.
