ABOUT IITTM
An autonomous organization of the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India. Established in 1983. Offers Education, Training, Research and Consultancy in tourism, travel and other allied sector. At present IITTM has five centers Vision:- To be the best admired tourism school in South Asia. Mission:- Impart world class tourism education.

OBJECTIVE OF TRAINING PROGRAMME


Ministry of Tourism, Government of India through INDIAN INSTITUTE OF TOURISM AND TRAVEL MANAGEMENT offers EWYL programme for :-

sensitizing youth to the concept of tourism and tourism industry. Training programme intend to:1.To prepare as a brand ambassadors to INDIAN TOURISM as critical points of interactions with tourist. 2.To act as student volunteers.

3.To make aware of nuance of tourism industry

ABOUT TRAINING PROGRAMME


Full time (21 days) programme with :Classroom studies and field visit(3 days tour). Classroom study focus on :1. Introduction about tourism. 2.Informaton related to allied sector of tourism. 3.Itinerary preparation methods. 4.World Heritage Site and Monuments of India.. And many other topics.

Tourism is travel for recreational, leisure or business purposes. The WORLD TOURISM ORGANISATION(WTO) defines tourists as people who "travel to and stay in places outside their usual environment for more than twenty-four (24) hours and not more than one consecutive year for leisure, business and other purposes not related to the exercise of an activity remunerated from within the place visited. Tourism comprises the activities of persons travelling to and staying in places outside there usual environment for not more than one consecutive year for:1. Leisure. 2. Recreation. 3. Business and other purposes..

Tourism is an amalgamation of diverse elements all of which are essential for providing a memorable enriched experience to the final consumer i.e. the tourist. The five such basic components/elements are:1. Accessibility. 2. Accommodation. 3. Attractions. 4. Activities. 5. Amenities

Types of Tourism
As World Tourism Organisation suggested there are only Three types of Tourism exists:1. Domestic tourism. 2. Inbound tourism. 3. outbound tourism.

NEW TOURISM PRODUCT


In Indian tourism perspective new tourism product is of type:1.Medical tourism. 2.MICE. 3.Disaster tourism. 4.Religious tourism. 5.Rural tourismand many other.

Conclusion
The travel and tourism industry is fascinating with its aura of international glamour and excitement because of its global scope. Tourism industry and its growth in the 21st century is phenomenal. We have to keep place with infrastructural changes and take necessary steps to make the stay of foreign tourist as comfortable as possible.
