Introduction
Ethics means the code of moral principles or science
of morals Government controls the conduct of individuals, social customs and duties Societies lay down a code of conduct (law) to decide

It cannot force him to help his neighbour in hours of need

The above unhealthy tendencies are guarded by Ethical code Code of Ethics - formulated by the Pharmacy Council of India Is the guidance for Indian Pharmacist

Pharmacist should take care to dispense a prescription correctly Should weigh and measure all ingredients with the help of scales & measures Should avoid visual estimations

Should always use drugs and medicinal preparation of standard quality Should never fill his prescriptions with spurious, substandard and unethical preparation Should be very judicious in dealing with drugs related to poisonous and addiction forming drugs

e. Apprentice pharmacist Apprentice pharmacists are admitted for practical training Pharmacist should see that trainees are given full facilities for their work On completion of training they should acquire sufficient techniques & skill No certificate should be granted with out proper training

Hawking of drugs & medicines should not be encouraged Any attempt should not be made to collect the orders from door to door Should not use self service method of operating pharmacies and drug stores

Advertising and displays No display materials either on premises in press or elsewhere should be used by pharmacist which contains any warning, design or illustration, reflecting unfavorably on pharmacists, collectively or upon any group or individual A disparaging reference, direct or by implication to other suppliers, products, remedies or treatment Misleading or exaggerated statements or claims
