Important Facts which you must understand about the Biometric Attendance System o Finger Sensor- The unit which scans and identifies the employee finger for attendance marking. o Image Resolution- This technical feature determines the resolution of the finger imaging data being scanned by the finger sensor. o Sensor Technology- This term defines the type of technology used by the sensor unit to scan the finger, optical is one of the best technologies available for the biometric systems. o Identification Speed- This is the calculation of maximum time taken to capture the image ,identify with restored database and confirm through display on attendance machine. 2 Sec is an acceptable time with latest available advanced biometric sensors.. o FAR (False Acceptation Ratio)- This term defines that how much chances are there to identify a finger wrongly (finger of A employee being identified as B by the system). This is very negligible i.e. 0.0001% means it can happen single time in 10000 uses rarely. o FRR (False Rejection Ratio)- This term defines that how much finger rejection will take place at the time of access. It is as low as 0.1% means 1 in 1000.
