So , one must have awareness of basic construction safety terms which are : adequate, bearer , brace , by hand , cartridge-operated , client , code of practice , competent authority , competent person , construction , construction site , danger , employer , guard-rail , hazard , hoist , ledger , lifting appliance , lifting gear , means of lifting , putlog , raker , scaffold , sound material , toe board , and transom

Competent authorities , employers , self-employed persons , workers , clients , and engineers should fulfill their general duties with regard to safety and there must be coordination and cooperation between them

Entrance and exit should be indicated and maintained safely A suitable house keeping programme should be continously implemented at site Precautions against fall of materials , person , and collapse of structures must be taken

There must be prevention of unauthorized entry There must be fire prevention and measures of fire fighting Proper and safe lighting should be provided in the absence of natural light

Scaffolds and ladders must be used if required They must be made by the material and designed with safety point of view Inspection must be done by a competent person when they are being used

Special attention towards welfare of workers and employees must be paid which includes : Drinking and food facility Sanitary facility Shelters Living accomodation
