Opt alpinisti au dispărut ieri, inghititi de o avalanşă. Un grup de sase adolescenti  cu doi ghizi
au încercat să cucerească un varf, in ciuda conditiilor  atmosferice nefavorabile. Au fost măturati de
pe panta si acoperiti de avanlanşă. Nu se stie încă ce anume a cauzat declansarea avalansei . Dacă vremea nu
se ameliorează, căutările vor fi amanate spre primavara. Intre timp trebuie create trasee de comunicare pentru a-i
elibera pe turistii izolati in satele de munte. Autoritatile ii previn pe schiori sa nu se abată de pe pârtii. Defrisarea
pădurilor de pe pante şi eroziunea au multiplicat frecventa declanşării avalanşelor.

10. AVALANCHES

Eight climbers disappeared yesterday, swallowed by an avalanche. A group of six teenagers

with two guides tried to conquer a peak, despite the unfavorable weather conditions. They
were swept off the slope and covered by the avalanche. It is not yet known what caused the
avalanche. If the weather does not improve, the searches will be postponed until spring. In the
meantime, communication paths must be created to release the isolated tourists who are in
the mountain villages. Authorities warn skiers not to deviate from the slopes. Deforestation on
slopes and erosion of soil have multiplied the frequency of avalanches.
