Umm Ali se spune c a fost creat n Egiptul ocupat de Imperiul Otoman, cnd un sultan s-a oprit n stuc cutnd ceva de mncare. Cel mai de seam buctar al satului, Umm Ali, a opit reeta asta i i-a servit-o sultanului care a fost tare mulumit. i dup ce am ncerca t reeta, neleg de ce. Ce-a rezultat a fost un foietaj moale, pe alocuri crocant, nve lit ntr-o budinc parfumat i uor dulceag cu nite buci delicioase lipicioase i crocan versiune mai elevat a budincii de pine i se poate face cu resturi de la un aluat f oietaj pe care l-ai folosit la o tart, perfect pentru micul dejun sau pentru un des ert mai lejer. Timp de pregtire: 10 minutes Timp de gtire: 30 minutes Porii: 2-3 Ingrediente: * 1/2 pachet aluat foietaj * 150ml smntn lichid * 150ml lapte * 1/2 can fructe uscate (caise, merior, curmale etc.) * 1 linguri extract vanilie * 4-5 linguri zahr brun * 1 lingur unt * fistic i semine de pin pentru garnisit Preparare: 1. Gtete aluatul de foietaj dezgheat n prealabil la cuptor conform instruciunilor de pe ambalaj. De obicei ntr-un cuptor nclzit la 200C pentru 15 minute. Las aluatul apoi s se rceasc. 2. n paralel, nclzete ntr-o crticioar smntna lichid, laptele, zahrul i aroma de vanilie pn e aproape de dat n clocot apoi ia-o de pe foc. 3. Pornete cuptorul i las-l s se nclzeasc la 200C. Taie fructele confiate cubulee. 4. Unge o tav cu puin unt apoi presar buci de aluat n tav, presrnd fructele confiate i turnnd amestecul de lapte i smntn peste. 5. Coace budinca pentru 15 minute, apoi las-o s se rceasc. Prep Time: 15 minutes Cook Time: 30 minutes Total Time: 45 minutes Ingredients: 1 package of frozen puff pastry (17 ounces) 1 15 oz can of sweetened condensed milk 3 cups water 1/2 cup cream 3/4 cup pistachios, shelled, chopped 1/2 cup pine nuts 1/2 cup almonds 1/2 - 3/4 cups coconut flakes (depending on taste)

1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract Preparation: Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Unroll puff pastry sheets and place on greased baki ng sheets. Bake for 15 minutes. You want the puff pastry to be golden and puffed . Remove from oven. Do not turn oven off; you will be using it in a few minutes with the same temp. Break puff pastry into small pieces (about 1-2 inches. Add nuts and coconut and be sure that they are mixed well and evenly distributed. Place nuts and bread in greased 9x12 baking dish. In a saucepan, heat sweetened milk, vanilla, and water on medium heat. Allow to cook for about 3-5 minutes. Remove from heat then allow to cool. Pour milk over puff pastry/nut mixture. Pour creme on top and bake uncovered for 15 minutes. Serve warm.
