Philippa has over 20 years teaching experience working

with both adults and children across both the ESL and
state sectors. As well as teaching general and business
English she has prepared learners for Cambridge
Examinations (ADVANCED and FCE). She has also been
involved in designing and delivering teacher training
seminars. When working as a primary school teacher
she taught children aged 7 – 11 years old. One of her
particular passions was organising residential and day
trips for the students.
Philippa is married, has 2 teenage daughters and a
rescue dog with royal connections – he’s a corgi cross!
She is an active member of the Board of Governors at a
local school where she is required to monitor the
implementation of government policies and the
education and welfare of the students in the school’s
care. Her other passions are reading, cooking food from
all over the world and planning her next holiday.
Shiralee has been teaching English since 2000 and
has taught in Poland, Egypt, Italy and Argentina. She
has taught all levels from complete beginners to post
proficiency and all ages from 5 years upwards. In
addition she has taught the Cambridge examinations
(PET, FIRST, ADVANCED and CPE), Business English,
Academic English and English for Specific Purposes.
Before becoming a teacher, Shiralee was an
administrator for a national UK charity which is
where she first provided training to her colleagues
and which sparked her love of teaching. When she
has some free time she likes walking and writing.
