Ethnic groups: Somali 60%, Afar 35%, French, Arab, Ethiopian, Italian and
another 4 ethnic groups.

Este a treia tara dintre cele mai mici din Africa..
- Although officially an Islamic state, other religions are given
freedom to worship. ( Operation World)
Desi in mod oficial este un stat Islamic si celelalte religii au libertatea de
inchinare .
- Historic tensions between the Issas (Somalis) in the south and Afars in
the north erupted in guerrilla warfare in the early ‘90s .
Exista tensiuni istorice intre somalezii din sud si afarii din nord care au
erupt intr-un razboi de gherila la inceputul anilor 90.

1) There are many Christians amongst the Ethiopian refugees
living in Djibouti. Pray that that would have enormous faith to
see others come to know God. Sunt multi crestini care
locuiesc in Djibouti printre refugiatii etiopieni. Sa ne rugam pentru
ei ca Dumnezeu sa le mareasca credinta si astfel sa ajunga sa
vada si alti oameni care sa vina sa-l cunoasca pe Dumnezeu.

2) There a few Afar and Somali Christians – many of them are
jobless and cannot read or write. Pray that these small
communities would not feel isolated but would be encouraged
and grow. Sunt doar cativa afari si somalezi crestini – cei mai
multi dintre ei sunt fara job si nu stiu sa scrie si sa citeasca. Sa ne
rugam ca aceste comunitati mici sa nu se simta izolate ci vor fi
incurajate si vor creste. ( Operation World)
3) Ask God to raise up prayer teams who will begin breaking up
the soil through worship and intercession. Sa ne rugam lui
Dumnezeu ca sa ridice grupuri de rugaciune care sa
“desteleneasca ogorul” prin inchinare si mijlocire.
