de Microsoft Windows n designul "Windows NT".[4] SO-ul a fost urmat de Windows XP (lansat n octombrie
2001) i Windows Server 2003 (lansat n aprilie 2003). n timpul dezvoltrii, Windows 2000 a fost cunoscut sub
denumirea Windows NT 5.0.
