I and my friend Jim we often talk on the phone. Today we are speaking
about family, food and meals of the day.
Jim Patrick: How are you, Minnie? I’m glad to hear your voice. You sound
happy. (Ce mai faci, Minnie? Îmi pare bine să-ţi aud vocea. Pari fericită.)
Minnie Jones: I am happy. Emily and Peter are coming home today. Our
family is together again. (Sunt fericită. Emily şi Peter vin astăzi acasă.
Familia noastră este din nou unită.)
Jim Patrick: How nice! It is a wonderful surprise! I’m sure you and Al are
delighted. Your son and daughter are coming home for holidays.
Minnie Jones: Not only our children but also our grandchildren. Our
granddaughters Hilda and Alice and our grandsons Klaus and Michael are
coming, too.
Jim Patrick: Oh, Minnie, I think you are very busy now. You are preparing
lots of things for your children and grandchildren.
Minnie Jones: That’s right. There is a lot of work and Al is helping me to
finish it. Now, I am baking a chocolate cake and an apple pie. (Aşa este. Am
Jim Patrick: Excellent! I even smell the flavours from your kitchen! Your
dear ones are lucky to have you. You are a treasure for your family.
(Excelent! Chiar simt aromele din bucătăria ta! Ai tăi sunt norocoşi să te
aibă. Eşti o comoară pentru familia ta.)
Minnie Jones: Well, Jim, don’t exaggerate things. I’m pleased to do all
these things for my family: preparing their rooms, cooking their breakfast,
lunch and dinner, washing dishes. I’m doing all the work willingly.
Jim Patrick: When are they coming? (Când vin?)
Minnie Jones: Tonight. All of them are coming tonight by plane. Emily,
Johann, Hilda and Klaus come at 7 o’clock and Peter, Anna, Alice and
Michael come at 9 o’clock. We go by car to the airport to wait for them. (În
seara asta.
la aeroport să-i aşteptăm.)
Jim Patrick: I leave you then. Have a nice evening home and enjoy your
meal! Good night, Minnie. (Te las atunci. O seară plăcută şi poftă bunăl!
Noapte bună, Minnie.)
Minnie Jones: Thank you, Jim. Good night! (Mulţumesc, Jim. Noapte bună!)
