Pentru toi cei care nu au fost n Macao, am pregtit un rezumat n a doua ediie a revistei Cashback Magazine. Relatm despre noile mijloace de comunicare, informarea prin intermediul telefoanelor de tip smartphone cu privire la diverse evenimente, filmul Lyoness difuzat la canalul WebChannel Lyoness.tv i, desigur, Convenia Liderilor n sine. O alt dezbatere important a fost dedicat golfului. Angajamentul Lyoness fa de European Tour i prognoza Austrian Golf Open reprezint fundamentul acestui subiect. At the 2012 Leader Convention in Macau approximately 550 premium members were bowled over by the appeal of the eastern Asian market and learnt many new things which will represent milestones in the development of Lyoness. For all those who couldnt make it to Macau, we have summarised the event in this second edition of Cashback Magazine. We report on new means of communication, event accreditations with smart-phones, the Lyoness film as well as the infotainment web channel Lyoness.tv, and of course, all the details about the Leader Convention itself. We also look more closely at the game of golf, in particular Lyoness commitment to the European Tour and a preview of the Austrian Golf Open. In our cover story you can find out what the requirements and formulas are for a successful business and an equally successful game of golf. And we devote our entire fashion shoot to this very trendy sport as well: we show you the brand-new Lyoness Golf Collection on one of the most beautiful golf courses in the Balearic Islands. In addition, the profiles of our international Cashback Card, voucher and online loyalty partners show once again how globally renowned companies and businesses just love to work with Lyoness. The preparations for the first projects of our new Greenfinity Foundation are in full swing, and we bring you up to speed. The Child & Family Foundation produced one of the highlights of the event in Macau, unveiling its brand-new look at the Leader Convention for the first time. The participants were really enthusiastic about the new look, which includes the website, the logo and the new Child & Family Foundation Magazine hot off the printing press. We show you what the CFF already has to offer and present the latest projects, including a new one in Nigeria for example. ie 500 Teilnehmer der Convention wurden von CEO Hubert Freidl, International Sales Director Werner Kaiser und verschiedensten Gastvortragenden, darunter Mitglieder des Presidents Team, ber Fortschritte und Weiterentwicklungen rund um Lyoness, Erfahrungen aus der Lyoness Karriere und die weiteren Schritte in Richtung Zukunft informiert. Ein bereits erfolgreicher Schritt in diese Zukunft ist fr Lyoness die Erffnung der Region Asia-Pacific mit den ersten Landesgesellschaften in Macao, Hongkong und Australien. Mit Begeisterung wurden die Partnerunternehmen vorgestellt, die bereits zu Beginn mit Tausenden neuen Akzeptanzstellen umfassende Einkaufsmglichkeiten bieten: darunter Pacific Coffee, Pizza Hut, Japan Home Center, Royal Supermarkets, Woolworths, Harvey Normann und viele andere.

Kommunikation Geradezu revolutionr ist das neu entwickelte Kommunikationskonzept. Der All about Lyoness-Film bildet die Basis der weltweit einheitlichen Kommunikation. Ein weiterer neu produzierter Film erlutert die Rahmenbedingungen und Vorzge des Empfehlungsmarketing-Konzeptes nher. Die Informations-E-Mails untersttzen neu registrierte Mitglieder sowie deren Empfehlungsgeber durch die Phase der Testmitgliedschaft bis hin zur vollwertigen Mitgliedschaft. Somit wird sichergestellt, dass die Lyoness Community im Sinne der Lyoness Philosophie Gemeinsam einkaufen. Gemeinsam profitieren. Gemeinsam Gutes tun. noch aktiver nutzt. Fr Premium-Mitglieder hat Lyoness.tv noch einen Extraservice parat: Am 19. Juli startet fr sie ein separates Programm in einem exklusiven Bereich. Ziel ist es, die Bedrfnisse sowohl der Shopper als auch der Lyoness Premium-Mitglieder multimedial zu untersttzen, erklrt Lyoness CEO Hubert Freidl. ANIMATION TECHNIQUES are used to illustrate the benefits that members enjoy and how simple it is to take advantage of the shopping opportunities that Lyoness provides. Cashback with every purchase and the Lyoness business concept are outlined in two different versions (shoppers and premium members), interspersed with comments from many enthusiastic Lyoness members. When I was asked to make this film it quickly became clear that it required a team consisting of the best producers, explained Didi Schneider, overall coordinator of the project. For this reason, the film was made in cooperation with Studio 71 and VUCX, two of the most renowned production companies in Germany. 62 people worked round-the-clock for three months long to complete it. All in all, 14 international motion graphics artists (Holland, USA, Iran, Germany) were involved in the production process. A total of 1590 hours of film material from more than 30 country-specific adaptations of the film were tirelessly processed, cut and layered with animation effects using the latest in technology developments in the field of animation as well as state-of-the-art filming techniques. This included use of the Red Digital Cinema camera favoured by top directors. This digital camera is currently being used by Peter Jackson (director of the Lord of the Rings trilogy), to film The Hobbit. It has also been used in films such as Pirates of the Caribbean and Spider Man. Digital film cameras are popular because they ensure a more efficient workflow. The filmed material can be checked on-site and if necessary shot again. Moreover, data can be duplicated, saved and processed immediately without prior development or colour adjustments, which saves an enormous amount of time. That said, the equipment alone was not responsible for the creation of the film. It would never have been completed without the remarkable efforts, enthusiasm and commitment of all those involved. One thing is clear the Lyoness Film is not merely an audio-visual handbook for Lyoness, it is a spectacular cinematic production.

In golf, a slice is one such nuisance: a shot that is generally unintended, when the ball is hit and travels left for a short time before turning sharply to the right. Of course there are players who take another ball out of their trouser pocket in such a case and drop it in an easier place to hit from. This may pave the way to winning the game but fairness and honesty are also virtues here, much in the same way as in your profession and career. Golf requires character, says Fischer, the author of the book. Cheating is forbidden but that doesnt stop everyone though. In this sport you yourself have to draw attention to small infringements that the others perhaps did not even notice on the course. And that requires strong principles. Or at least a desire to play fair and within the spirit of the sport.

EATING, LIVING AND DRIVING A CAR regardless of what we do, we always have an impact on nature. We consume resources and produce both greenhouse gases and waste. Since 1994, researchers have referred to these human impacts on the environment using the vivid concept of an ecological footprint. Today, this is one of the most comprehensive indicators for sustainability, a kind of environmental bookkeeping system, which shows what size of area measured in global hectares our planet must provide each year in order to supply resources for a country, a company or even just an individual person, as well as to absorb or recycle their waste. The earth provides 1.8 hectares per year per person to satisfy their everyday needs. However, the average per capita ecological footprint is currently around 2.7 hectares per year, and within the EU even 4.7 hectares which is the price we pay for our consumer behaviour and high mobility.* In other words: we are living beyond our means. The

This is why environmental protection initiatives must be aimed at reducing our ecological footprint on a sustainable basis, thereby redressing the balance in nature. Data collection on four continents And this is exactly what the Lyoness Greenfinity Foundation plans to do. Its first project focuses on determining the ecological footprint of every single Lyoness location and event, and this work has been progressing at pace since the start of the year. Data is currently being gathered in all Lyoness locations across four continents. All factors are being meticulously recorded and evaluated, including usable space, electricity consumption and the mobility of staff. To calculate all the individual ecological footprints, the Greenfinity team has a special and innovative evaluation procedure at its disposal, developed in conjunction with the Graz University of Technology; in addition to CO2 emissions it also analyses many other environmental aspects. We expect the data capturing process for the individual locations to finish at the end of April, and the process for events can start no later than the Sensation 2012 in the autumn, explained Markus Hendrich, CEO of the Lyoness Greenfinity Foundation. Our aim is to have the first compensation projects wrapped up and also to have achieved the first ecological savings by the end of the year. This will enable us to position Lyoness as a climate-neutral company in the future.

Alongside existing channels of communication such as the website, Facebook and Twitter, we have now added additional outlets to raise awareness about the many projects of the Foundation and document all the work completed to date. The magazine will appear every six months and gives a run-down of how current aid and education projects are progressing throughout the world. A school project in Africa


After Tanzania, the Child & Family Foundation is now working in a second African country, renovating and extending Holy Trinity School in Uromi, Nigeria.
EDUCATION IS A valuable commodity in Nigeria that many are deprived of. The schools are often in a very bad state of repair and many children have to work in order to provide financial support for their families. The illiteracy rate is consequently rather high: roughly one third of the population can neither read nor write. Frederick Akhelumele, a maths teacher born in Nigeria, set himself the goal of doing something about this unsustainable situation. He came to work in Austria in 1995, driven by the desire of setting up a school for children in need in his home city of Uromi. Amongst other jobs he sold the Megaphon magazine in Graz, where he got to know Dr. Barbara Rupp. Together they founded the Youthcare International association and tirelessly collected donations to actually be able to implement their ambitious school project. A future for 1,000 children in need The construction work began in 2002 and Holy Trinity School opened its doors three years later. With Frederick Akhelumele at the helm, a total of 1,000 pupils are now taught at the school, all of whom come from regions around Uromi, some of which are extremely impoverished. The unique curriculum has also made a strong contribution to the excellent reputation of the school: nearly 50 local teachers organise their classes according to a Western African curriculum, which has been supplemented by certain Austrian standards regarding obligatory attendance and remedial teaching for slower pupils. The Child & Family Foundation is taking the school on from May 2012 and will begin with renovating the five existing build-

Mizeria i lipsa educaiei copiilor din Jos au determinat-o pe Amina Zwindila s acioneze. n anul 2008, pe cnd mai studia nc la Universitatea din Jos, tnra nigerian a nceput s vnd fructe i sucuri din zon, pentru ca din banii ctigai s porneasc un proiect privat, al unei coli pentru copii srmani i care au nevoie de ocrotire. Ea a nchiriat o cldire micu la marginea oraului i a amenajat acolo, cu mult druire, o grdini i o coal pregtitoare. Ambiiosul proiect a stat de la bun nceput sub o stea norocoas. Cu sprijinul asociaiei austriece Youthcare International, n anul 2009 au put fi deja adpostii i educai n coal doisprezece copii. Spaiul era limitat. Pentru a putea primi mai muli elevi, n anii care au urmat Amina Zwindila a extins permanent coala; ea a nchiriat spaii noi i a atras personal suplimentar.

Save a child today


Since the spring of 2012 the Child & Family Foundation has been supporting a second educational project in Nigeria a small school for disadvantaged children in Jos.
THE LIVES OF many children in Nigeria are blighted by poverty, illness and a lack of education. Jos, a city of 860,000 people in the heart of the country, is no different, and it has the added problem of being unsettled by the severe and long-running disputes between Christians and Muslims. The hardship and lack of education of the children in Jos prompted Amina Zwindila to spring into action. In 2008 when this Nigerian woman was studying at the University of Jos she began to sell local fruits and juices, using the proceeds to launch a private school project in her region for poor and vulnerable children. She rented a small building at the edge of the city, and thanks to her dedicated work she managed to set up a nursery and a pre-school. The ambitious project got off to a great start. Supported by Austrian association Youthcare International, the school provided accommodation and taught twelve children in 2009. Space was in short supply. In order to take on more pupils, Amina Zwindila steadily expanded the school in the following years; she rented new premises and took on additional staff. CFF secures future for school Almost 70 children are taught at the Amina Zwindila Foundation School just now. To secure the future of the school and be able to teach more children, the Lyoness Child & Family Foundation will also be supporting this project in the future, much to the delight of Amina Zwindila and her pupils, whose education and care is now secured. Amina has achieved a great deal on her own initiative and with her dedication. With the CFF onboard as a project partner she can now offer education to many more children in need in Jos in the future, giving them the valuable present of hope.
