Female management
Courage and ambition are defining traits of
businesswomen or those women who get to
key management positions. In a male
society, businesswomen face a double
challenge: to make a name for themselves
professionally and to retain their feminity.
When it comes to their attitude to
competition, women show a penchant for
indirect competition strategies they focus
on quality, aesthetics and thus promote the
products of their own company or the
company they work for; unlike men, who
prefer face-to-face confrontation.
Recent studies by Daniel Goleman show that
the emotional intelligence of managers and
employees is becoming a more essential
factor of success. Women tend to pay more
attention to the companys emotional mood,
the quality of relationships between
employees and between employees and the
management. They have a radar with
which they sense immediately when the
companys emotional mood is affected, and
