Bob Dylan, nscut ca Robert Allen Zimmerman la 24 mai 1941, in Duluth,
Minnesota, SUAeste un cntre, compozitor, muzician i poet american ale crui
contribuii n muzica american sunt comparabile, n faim i influen, cu cele
ale lui Stephen Foster, Irving Berlin, Woody Guthrie i Hank Williams.

O parte din cele mai apreciate cntece ale lui Dylan sunt din anii 1960, iar
cntece precum "Blowin' in the Wind" i "The Times They Are a-Changin'" au
devenit embleme ale micrilor anti-rzboi i pentru drepturile civile la scar
mondial. Albumul Together Through Life a intrat n topul vnzrilor de albume
din Marea Britanie i din SUA n 2009, Bob Dylan fiind astfel cel mai n vrst
artist care reuete acest lucru.[5][6]

Pe lng faptul c este cntre vocal, Dylan mai cnt i la muzicu, chitar,
chitar bas, pian i org electronic.

n 2004 a fost trecut pe locul doi n lista celor mai mari artiti ai tuturor timpurilor
al revistei Rolling Stone.

Din ianuarie 2011 creaia sa este obiect de studiu la Catedra de Istorie a Ideilor
din cadrul Facultii de Filosofie, Istorie a Ideilor i a Artelor i Limbi Clasice,
Universitatea Oslo, Norvegia.[8]

n anul 2016, i-a fost decernat Premiul Nobel pentru Literatur, pentru crearea
de noi expresii poetice n cadrul marii tradiii a cntecului american.
