Abstract: Neamţ Monastery, the largest monastery in Moldova, has an extremely rich
tradition, going back to distant centuries, and whose importance is all the more important
since it contributed to the preservation of the religious and national identity of the
Romanian people. St. Stephen the Great (1457-1504) has been undoubtedly the greatest
founder of churches to this day, finding real support in the Church of Moldavia in solving
internal and external problems. He issued several donation documents, turning its church
into the larges and the most representative architectural monument of the time.
