Voroneț is a monastery in Romania, located in the town of Gura Humorului, Moldavia.

It is one
of the famous painted monasteries from southern Bukovina, in Suceava County, built by Stephen the
Great.
The church is known throughout the world for its exterior frescoes of bright and intense colours,
and for the hundreds of well-preserved figures placed against the renowned azurite background.
The church is also interesting because of its small windows, their rectangular frames of crossed
rods and the receding pointed or shouldered arches of the interior doorframes which are Gothic. But,
above them, on each wall is a tall window with a flamboyant Gothic arch. The whole west façade is
without any openings, which indicates that the intention of the Metropolitan Roșca was from the
beginning to reserve it for frescoes.
On the north façade is still visible the original decoration of the church, the rows of ceramic
enamelled discs in yellow, brown and green, decorated in relief. The tower is decorated with sixteen tall
niches, in four of which are windows. A row of small niches encircles the tower above them. The
fragmented roof probably follows the shape of the original roof, which doubtless was made with
shingles.
I’ve never visited The Voroneț Monastery but I surely was impressed when I’ve first heard about
its interesting architecture.

Voroneț este o mănăstire din România , situat în orașul Gura Humorului , Moldova . Este una
dintre cele mai renumite mănăstiri pictate din sudul Bucovinei , în județul Suceava , construita de Stefan
cel Mare .
Biserica este cunoscut în întreaga lume pentru frescele sale exterioare de culori luminoase și
intens , și pentru sutele de figuri bine conservate plasate pe fundalul azurit de renume .
Biserica este , de asemenea, interesant pentru ei ferestre mici , cadrele lor dreptunghiulare de tije
trecut și retrag arcuri ascuțite sau umeri de ramele usilor de interior care sunt gotic . Dar , deasupra lor ,
pe fiecare perete este o fereastra inalta cu un arc gotic viu colorat . Intreaga fatada vestica este fara
deschideri , ceea ce indică faptul că intenția Mitropoliei Roșca a fost de la început să-l rezerva pentru
fresce .
Pe fatada de nord este încă vizibil decorul original al bisericii , rândurile de discuri emailate din
ceramica in galben , maro și verde , decorat în relief . Turnul este decorat cu șaisprezece nișe înalte , în
patru din care sunt ferestre . Un rând de nișe mici înconjoară turnul de deasupra lor . Acoperiș
fragmentat probabil urmeaza formaacoperișului original, care fără îndoială a fost făcută cu zona zoster .
N-am vizitatMănăstirea Voroneț , dar eu cu siguranță a fost impresionat când am auzit prima
dată despre arhitectura interesanta .
