Stimați profesori / Dragi părinți și elevi,

Lumina Instituții de Învățământ contribuie de peste douăzeci de ani la dezvoltarea

unor proiecte educaționale și culturale menite să ajute tineri din areale culturale
diverse în procesul lor de instruire și cunoaștere. Dincolo de activitatea culturală
și educațională, Lumina Instituții de Învățământ este implicată în numeroase alte
proiecte, cele mai cunoscute fiind LuminaMath, IFLC și Infomatrix.

LuminaMath este un concurs național de matematică care are o tradiție de peste

douăzeci de ani în rândul elevilor din România şi care testează cunoștințele
asimilate de aceștia în şcoală, responsabilitatea, perseverența şi răbdarea,
toate acestea într-un test amplu contra timp. Este extrem de important ca elevii
să reușească să găsească modalitățile de rezolvare cele mai rapide şi care să
conducă la soluția potrivită. Antrenamentul este cheia succesului în acest caz,
iar pentru a veni în întâmpinarea nevoilor elevilor și ca urmare a cererilor primite
în ultimii ani de la părinți și profesori am decis să realizăm culegeri LuminaMath
simulări care să ajute la înțelegerea modalităților de rezolvare ale exercițiilor.

Scopul realizării culegerii este acela de a pregăti temeinic elevii care doresc
să participe nu numai la concursul LuminaMath, ci în general la concursuri de
matematică sau olimpiade naționale.

Anul acesta ne mândrim cu cea de-a XXVI-a ediție a competiției și totodată dorim
să vă mulțumim: fără încrederea dumneavoastră și fără feedback-ul oferit nu am
fi putut îmbunătăți acest sistem de testare astfel încât competiția LuminaMath să
rămână o constantă în sistemul educațional din România timp de douăzeci de
ani.

Concursul Național de Matematică LuminaMath Ediția a XXVI-a
The LuminaMath International Competition, 26th edition, 2022
The 2022 LuminaMath International Competition
consists of a multiple-choice written exam made up
of exercises of varying degrees of difficulty, each ha-
ving 5 possible answers.
Subjects are grouped by grades and distributed
as such: primary school grades II-IV (30 exercises
each) and secondary school grades V-VIII (40 pro-
blems each).
1. The Competition takes place on the same day,
10th of December 2022, between 10 a.m. and 12
p.m., for all grades, in a 120 minute time interval.
2. Participants cannot exit the exam room during
the first hour or the last 15 minutes of the Com-
petition.
3. Participants who finish after the first hour has
passed can hand in their answer sheets and
exist the exam.
4. When the supervisor announces the end of the
exam, participants must wait for their answer
sheets to be collected.
5. During the last 15 minutes of the Competition, at
least 2 participants must remain present in any
exam room until the exam time runs out.
6. Participants must have their school-issued iden-
tification document, a pencil, a sharpened and
an eraser with them.
7. 7. The usage any electronic device, phone, geo-
metry tool is strictly prohibited.
8. 8. Participants trying to cheat the exam will be
disqualified.
9. In the event of answer sheets from the same
exam room sharing too many similarities, they
will be voided.
10. It is the responsibility of every participant to en-
sure that his answer sheet is not seen by other
participants.
11. At the beginning of the exam, participants are
advised to verify that the blank answer sheet
has no errors (printing errors, content errors);
such errors need to be brought to the attention
of a supervisor, who will replace the participant’s
answer sheet with a new one and will void the
faulty one.
12. Answers will be filled in on the answer sheet,
and only pencils will be used. Please check the

booklet variant (either A or B).
13. For each question, a single answer must be cho-
sen, which will be filled in in the answer section,
in the circle corresponding to the chosen answer
next to the question. Even when a question ad-
mits multiple correct answers, participants will
choose only one of them. If the participant fills
in more than one answer to a question, they will
be voided.
14. In the event that you fill in a wrong answer on the
answer sheet, it is important to erase it carefully
before filling in another answer.
15. Knowing that the average allotted time for a qu-
estion is 3-4 minutes, participants are advised to
use it efficiently.
16. The final score grading formula is the following:
- for grades V-VIII:
P = 20 (automatic) + 2×NCA – 0.5×NWA
- for grades II-IV:
P = 25 (automatic) + 2.5×NCA – 0.5×NWA
where NCA is the number of correct answers
and NWA is the number of wrong answers.
Unanswered questions do not change the sco-
re.
17. In the event of multiple answer sheets graded
with the same score, awards will be given accor-
ding to the following criteria:
- higher number of correct answers
- higher difficulty degree of solved exercises
18. Scoring is computerized, therefore insuring im-
partial grading and ranking.
19. Correctly filling in the answer sheet is part of the
game. The computer can fail to read markings
made using other symbols (crosses, lines, po-
ints) or by using a writing tool other than pen-
cils. The answer sheet must not show stains or
scratches.
20. The computer detects cases when the exam pa-
per was not completed individually, in this case,
the participants being disqualified from the Com-
petition.
21. Results and rankings will be published on the
official website luminamath.org and the students
will also be able to access their individual exam
report in their personal account.
